Eh? Cheering jobs vs being against a bailout? No hypocrisy at all unless you are a simpleminded dolt.

Corker is about the closest to being able to be a hypocrit but he was a wobbler and tried to negotiate during the bailout talks.

Oppose stimulus spending. Apply for stimulus funds.

EDIT: Or in the case of T. Paw, complain about the Health Care bill and spending. Accept hundreds of millions of dollars for Medicaid. Its like the fat chick that complains about not being able to lose weight while shoving chocolate cake into her mouth.

If you believe the Republicans, GM recovered despite the rescue. The afternoon drive-time talk radio guy here in Upstate South Carolina still berates the Obama administration for depriving him of the ability to buy a "non-Government" Chevy.
 
the bank bailouts saved the economy and put tighter restrictions on national mafia, i mean banks... the auto bailouts saved thousands of jobs and kept foreign competitors at bay, and putting trillions of dollars back into the economy instead of military warfare has kept the unemployment rate from freefalling into great depression levels. and the medical reform is a giant FUCK YOU to the insurance companies- the very ones who were the sole reason why medical costs skyrocketed into ridiculous levels.

i know republicans cry that he is spending all of our money, but the reality is he is redistributing the wealth- the wealth that used to go to billionaire ceo's is finally starting to trickle back down to the middle class, as it should.

had one as a rental. while it wasn't horrible 80's and 90's GM crap, it is nowhere near "damn nice".

I have questioned why they havent run ads talking about the auto rescue. BTW I refuse to say bailout-bah I did it- since it was frank lunz who coined it and basically stapled it on the face of every one of his defacto minions...

If you look at the auto rescue and the tarp both have been profitable to an extent and in the case of GM almost payed off. Tarp will ultimately make an profit and is down to 60 billion or so in outstanding loans..

The disengenuos nature of the republicans when it comes to taking money after they jumped up and down saying they never would should have been something they all have been called out on.

While I do not condone attack ads letting them sit unanswered has never worked-swift boats etc-

They should at least run ads in states that have a heavy GM presence giving the specifics of how many jobs were saved..

I do know the unions are doing this to a certain extent but unions have such a bad rep to anyone not in a union their influence is measured...

Anytime someone complains to me personally about the stimulus bill I ask them if they returned their tax refund...

But too bad tax payers won't get their money back since Chrysler was a private company before the bailout, declared and emerged from bankruptcy, and it still is a private company.

Tax payers will see "$0" from Chrysler even if the auto maker become profitable.

Dan Quale had a hand in the funds never coming back to the taxpayers from Chrysler. Now the government did get some money back when they took over Chryslter capital. I have wondered what the total amount taxpayers were out after that. I could not find any hard numbers in my search.

Maybe Chrysler should pay a small amount on each car they sell after they are completely solvent to pay back the taxpayers with interest..

Chrysler made an "operating profit" of $143 million in Q1 '10.
They posted a loss of $197 million after charges and taxes.

That compares with a $3.8 billion loss they posted from June '09(when they emerged from bankruptcy) to December '09.
Yes...They actually lost $4 billion in 6 months.

I haven't checked up on their Q2 '10 report which should have been out a month or two ago for an update of their business.
Still, the fact that they sold vehicles for more than it cost to make them shows me they're on a rebound.

You might even be able to buy their stock next year.

US and Canadian governments own 12.4% jointly
Fiat owns 20% with an option to increase to 35%(I'm guessing they take the US/Canadian government's stake if they meet certain goals set by them?).

I am not bitching about chump change going to labor when bankers got 3 trillion and 12 trillion backstop. Hell they bonused out 1% of GDP to a few thousand people on tax payers dime. People, many of whom should be in prison according to William Black, not getting 120 million dollar bonuses ea CEO. If economy keeps evaporating bankers will own everything including those autoworkers houses.
