"Glossy" widescreen, worth it or not?

I have never had the opportunity to see a MacBook with the glossy screen they offer in the customization options. Does it really make that much of a difference?

I love it personally. But it does introduce an annoying glare depending on your lighting. It really is something you need to sit in front of IMO to see if you like it.

Why don't you just go to an Apple store, Best Buy, Microcenter, etc., and see for yourself what you think? I have used many matte screens and have had a glossy Macbook for almost a year. I really prefer the glossy screen and find that glare really isn't a problem, but YMMV.

I like the glossy too, but I know a lot of people who don't like it because of the glare.

The problem is that within an Apple store, glare does tend to be a problem due to the amount and positioning of lighting. So you might not get an accurate feel for the screen.

cant stand glossy. thats a huge reason why i got the macbook pro instead of the macbook, but it really comes down to personal preference. the glossy screens just make it look...fake in a way, although the color reproduction is nice, i'd much rather have it natural, aka matte.

MacBook & iMac only come in glossy.

My MBP glossy looks great after using RadTech's OmniCleanz. It wasn't so great when I used iKlear, which must not be designed for glossy TFTs (even though they say it's fine).
