The election of DT has presented global elites like myself with a big problem: What do we do now? Do we stay in the US and subject ourselves to the will of the unwashed masses as they elect fascist buffoon after fascist buffoon to public office, or do we leave and find a more sensible place to call home?

I've always thought of myself as more of a member of the world community than as an "American", and I have family in Europe, so I think I will apply for citizenship in either Germany or France. I never considered myself an "elite", but clearly something separates me and others from the masses of people who voted for Trump. I know it sounds odd to consider oneself one of the "global elite", but if you supported HRC in this election it is likely you are one. To the HRC supporters and other global elites here on this forum, where will you be moving to next?

We've always thought of you as a "Russian".

Doesn't matter where you move as long as it isn't too close to the ocean. Climate change will affect everyone and Americans just voted full steam ahead.

A "global elite" is a person who usually holds themselves to values they consider of higher order than patriotism or religion, and it is somebody who has the resources to live comfortably in nearly any country on earth. They believe in a transcendent concept of human rights that does not depend on country or region, and they usually are educated and hold high-value employment in the countries in which they reside.

These people consider their political values to be superior to those of other, more provincial citizens who base their values on religious beliefs and "love of country". To the global elite, those are fantasies, myths, and delusions.

There was this guy on the news who is moving to the Philippines because it's so much safer. I suppose that's a nice stable government for some.

You realize you are even less likely to get health care under this new administration right?
No, no, no, and NO. A Republican Senator from Mississippi just said on NPR this morning that Trump and the Republican Congress were going to apply market forces to bring down health insurance premiums. It was going to be item number one on the Trump agenda.

Russia is certainly a beautiful country, but sadly it's just too cold for me. I prefer warmer climates.

Recently I've been looking a lot at south america, but all the countries seem to be awash in corruption or run by tyrants. Spain also seems nice but I can't speak Spanish well. Maybe I can learn?

Trump claims he will use the market to make healthcare very cheap for all, even people who have no money will be able to afford it. I see no reason to doubt his capability to do the illogical, given that he claimed he would win for president and did.

Why ask us? I would think the Russian government would have much better resources for researching your travel options than we do.

So like Tomax and Xamot? Do they have a secret base?

As a Global Elite you must expect the best for yourself always. I recommend you do indeed go to Spain, to allow the Atlantic Ocean to separate you from the unwashed peasantry you seek to escape. As a Global Elite you must only settle for the utmost in quality, so Marbella in the south is the place for you.

I wouldn't concern yourself with the language barrier, you can hire a small peasant boy to follow you around and handle translations.

Then you can do like the voters in the county where I live. Only vote for President and allow the Republican congressman be voted in by those who decided to vote the entire ballot. Plus you need to get a 800k more voters.

Actually look at how fast arizona and texas are turning blue. By 2024 they should be blue states normally.

That said look at the total vote in michigan. If just 40% of that was spread over Arizona and Texas.. Hillary would win.

But people are lazy to uproot homes and would rather put up with governors trying to poison them via lead in the water.

Only if the people get out and vote. Even though the demographics are changing less than 30% of eligible Hispanics voted in Texas.

Yeah Hillary was the wrong candidate.

Last 6 elections.. the "experienced" candidate lost.

Too lazy? FFS.
It's not an option. They do not have the money to drop everything and cross the country.
If it means so much to you... pay them to move. Contact the DNC and push for this "plan".

It's amazing that you think mobility is an option for average, poor, Americans.

I can agree with you on 50% of what you said since its true, but the flip side of that coin is.. during the great depression, how did the Great Migration occur?
