Global cooling may set in for 20-30 years.

The bitter winter afflicting much of the Northern Hemisphere is only the start of a global trend towards cooler weather that is likely to last for 20 or 30 years, say some of the world’s most eminent climate scientists.
Their predictions – based on an analysis of natural cycles in water temperatures in the Pacific and Atlantic oceans – challenge some of the global warming orthodoxy’s most deeply cherished beliefs, such as the claim that the North Pole will be free of ice in
summer by 2013.

According to the US National Snow and Ice Data Centre in Colorado, Arctic summer sea ice has increased by 409,000 square miles, or 26 per cent, since 2007 – and even the most committed global warming activists do not dispute this.

The scientists’ predictions also undermine the standard climate computer models, which assert that the warming of the Earth since 1900 has been driven solely by man-made greenhouse gas emissions and will continue as long as carbon dioxide levels rise.

I was thinking of something, it probably does not make sense, and I don't really know enough about how the earth works to back this up, but I'm wondering if it's possible that the "surface" of the earth is actually moving uniformally, but the center (which I'm guessing is what is the main point of orbit) stays the same. So this would cause the equator to actually move closer to the north, and the north move closer to the where the equator was. Basically imagine that you have a globe and the map on it is just a big cloth, and it's moving, but the earth still rotates the same way.

This theory probably makes no sense, just something crazy I thought of that could be the reason why the north (specifically north pole area) seems to be getting hot weather and the south is getting cold weather.

This is why I'm a server tech and not a climate scientist. 😛 If I publicize my theory properly though, maybe it will pick up. It worked for the Big Bang. 😛

Have you ever heard of Occam's Razor?

Well it's kinda expected if you follow how the sun has been this past year. We went through one month without sun spots and in history any time we've gone an extended period without sun spots we went through global cooling.

Cool, time for me to get really good at snowboarding. Now if we could just have Global Mountain Creation... wait, that would be bad.

Huh, I thought global warming was going to be canceled out by nuclear winter. I guess it depends who you aks.

I'd love to have cooler weather year round. I'm sorta liking this cold snap we're having right now.

Everyone has a different "theory" (opinion?) about the climate and different, contradictory "facts" (fabrications?) to back their theory up. How the hell can the "evidence" point in so damn many different directions? I've given up on even speculating about climate change. I don't think anyone really knows or cares what the fuck is going on. They just want the answer to be something that they can use for personal gain, and therefor they don't even worry about what it really is.

You can't just make stuff up and have it be true. A year, or even 3 years of cold weather does not make a trend. Go back to statistics class.

Has no one here read about the emails purporting the central global warming theory's data to be made of carefully picked, scientifically fraudulent data? And does no one realize that the major proponents of global warming are becoming insanely rich off of it, while funding research that is biased towards GW's existence?

Just asking questions.

I'm enjoying the fact that it's like practically the same temperature here in Nova Scotia as in Florida.

I'm in Quebec City (fun place btw) right now and yesterday it was something like -23C here. I'm looking at the weather for back home in Vancouver... +12C. I now understand why Americans make fun of Canada as being fucking cold - it's because most of it is. Vancouver on the other hand is pretty damn sweet.
