Hi, ever since I have formatted my PC, I have suddenly started getting glitches on my screen, that distort the picture very quickly and then return to the screen to normal operation.
I formatted my pc when I realised Windows 2000 SP2 was running too slow, so I did a fresh install, installed Windows 2000 SP2, intel chipset drivers, and Nvidia Detonator 4 23.11.
These glitches started appearing on the desktop and in games, and are only resloved by running a high refresh rate such as 85 or 100hz. In games I managed to stop these glitches by obtaining the Nvidia Refresh rate fix, but that doesnt help me in Counterstrike. When I play CS, I get these annoying glitches and it ends up in my computer crashing!
I am running a Hercules 3d Prophet II GTS PRO 64mb (GeForce 2 Pro), on an Asus CUSL2, with 512mb Crucial PC133 CL2 RAM, and a P3 700 @ 933mhz. I know that this is overclocked, but this problem cannot possibly happen because of overclocking, I ran this setup for a year with no problems. These glitches even appear at 700mhz! I feared it was the RAM, but I tried standard PC100 ram, and the glitches kept appearing. I have even re-installed windows with no other cards in the motherboard! I then installed my graphics card in my other pc and it works fine, even though the AGP port in my other pc is 2x AGP, the glitches still appear on my computer when I reduce the AGP port to 2x.
Any help would be great!
