He's just like every other television personality, a complete ratings whore. He doesn't care what we think of him... all he cares about is we're talking about him.

True, I just think it's funny. Part 2, the fake call was hillarious. Dunno if he'll post it though.

I'd already known Beck didn't have a level-headed opinion of violent video games from a bit on his TV show around when CNN picked it up; he claimed there was a concrete correlation between violent video games and violence in reality and his attitude was that anyone who disagreed with his viewpoint was an idiot. The problem is that it is proven time and again when a violent video game is released, millions of people buy it, and the streets do not flow with blood contrary to beliefs held by folks such as he. However, he is a fine American I believe so I don't think hoping for violence towards him is a good postulation. What we have here is a case of one who is paid to never shut up picking on one of the last few safe demographics. White males and smart people (not mutually exclusive demographics mind you) are the safest, easiest, and most legal to poke fun at for cheap laughs and ratings. While this does lose him some respect from myself, he is entitled to his opinion and as long as he is not physically assaulting people like a schoolyard bully, this merely serves as a display of his precarious views on violent video games and video gamers in general.

I just wish he wouldn't get paid to spread his twisted opinions. If he wants to stand out on a street corner and shout backwards thoughts at passers-by, fine, but don't give him a venue to infect millions of people (too much credit, probably more like tens of people) and pay him to do so.

I wish we wouldn't spread his opinions (and name) for free. This was all over every game blog and message board within the last few days. I'm sure he just hates that.

What amazes me is the number of young kids getting their hands on games like GTA. A 12 y/o has no business playing GTA4.

My wife is a 5th grade teacher and she's constantly shocked by what they say and do. Just recently, one of the 5th graders drafted a plan to kill several teachers and students. And we're not talking an inner-city minority school here.

I hope Glenn Beck gets mangled in a car accident.

Way to prove him wrong. Good job.

Thank you.

I'm one of those "whackjob liberals" you rarely hear about. The violent, retribuationary kind. My opinion stands.

Yeah clearly it was GTA's fault.

Plus I thought it was usually white middle class kids that blow up their schools not minority inner city kids.

Let's face it, white kids get more press when they do bad and when they do good. Put your kids in an inner-city minority school and come back and talk to me about stereotypes and how safe your kids are. The problem is that the good kids in inner-city schools are treated the same in the public eye as the bad ones while the evil white kids who shoot their class mates are made out to be satanic bastard children who were abused so the general public don't think their children could be that evil themselves. That is the real fundamental flaw of stereotypes and mass media.

Kids of all ages are being introduced to mature entertainment far too young for our cultures. It's no different than kids being offered up pornography before parents have talks with their them about sex. The parents and the general public are at fault really. There are issues other than teaching their children about volatile issues than sitting down and talking. Using purchasing power and local and state voting power is also being mishandled.

Thats what you get when you have several generations trying not to act like the one that came before it because they felt jilted in childhood for some reason or another.

Video Game violence does not bother me when it is halo, mass effect, or turok. Killing things that are not real is a big difference from nailing a prostitute and then murdering her. It cheapens the crime in the eyes of the children playing it.

There is no one in this forum that would take a inner city school over a middle class school for saftey.

The reason why you hear all the bad white kids killing people is because the plans are so intricate. Inner city is more of a "in the now" type of attack, stabbing and single shootings.
Both are horrible, just one gets reported.

Ah I remember that guy from head line news, took one look at him and knew he wasn't telling news, he was trying to grab rating with whatever BS that worked and be as biased as required.

Stop expecting news from this guy, he'd be selling miracle tonics as a cure for cancer if that would make him more money (and get away with it).

I don't mind Beck too much but I think he's fucking stupid on this topic.
