Video where Beck starts talking is part 2, part 1 is just people standing around.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7-higlsngo&feature=related

Not too bad, some good points some a bit far out there. I don't see how they can say those people in the crowd were nuts or extremist. They look like every day America to me. They are saying 25,000 people attended. Beck looks like he has really been stuffing down the pie, serious weight gain going on there.

Not sure what he is talking about with the 4 sets of books for the country. If someone has a link to what he is talking about I would like to read it.

Compares state of USA to Titanic .
The Plan:
He wants to start holding conventions where people are taught things like finance, government, how it all works, how to run for office, the constitution, and to get voters registered. He has Steve Forbes on board with the idea. Saying they will do 7 conventions to start .

Forming their own community organizing group but without using any government funds. So kind of ironic if it did work out, complaining about community organizing groups then using your own to combat them.

One thing is for sure, he is a good public speaker.

Dude is human scum. My brother is a big fan. I don't understand why he can't find a better fan-boy devotion object like maybe Ron Paul or something.

It is doubtful at least that Paul ever called up a woman after her miscarriage to publicly laugh at her face.

Oh this thread is going to go places.

Indeed. The OP should have gone all in and titled the thread:

"Glenn Beck reads Sarah Palin's book "Going Rogue" at Rush Limbaugh's House in Florida."

The flames would reach to the sky with that one!

Since we've only got 1 of 3 here, we'll just have to settle for 50 story flames. :p

He is crazy but unless he is doing all this purely to make money and doesn't believe what he says--and I don't think that is the case; I do think he cares, I find his caring and ambitious virtuous not scummy. You'll be hard pressed to find many who say a problem with the US right now is that people care too much. Most don't care enough and then are put into a blather by, yes, people like Beck, but if they cared more they wouldn't need figureheads like him to stroke them into their furies because they wouldn't feel so desperate to begin with (maybe).

I believe he is purely doing it to make money and fame. I live in Phoenix. He used to be a "shock jock" here and did some really awful things. I don't think the guy cares about anything but money.

but at least the fake tears make me laugh.

If it is just for money/fame, he is human scum. I think he must be a great actor, though, otherwise. I really do think he cares about this stuff. That is my guess, but most of my exposure to him is just bits and pieces from the media or posts; I don't watch him over time enough to have a firm impression.

I'm still waiting for Beck to face child rape charges. I heard he still hasn't even denied the charges.

I know... All he has to do is confront them and they would go away. Is there some truth to the charges? I'm just asking questions.

Once you understand his background it becomes abundantly clear the guy is honestly just lost and doesn't know any better. He was a persistent drug abuser (coke, alcohol), at 13 his parents divorced, at 15 his mother tragically drowned, diagnosed with ADHD and barely got out of high school. A really tragic background that quite thoroughly explains his erratic behavior and emotional outbursts, the poor guy.

However, truth is Beck is a dangerous person, just in the sense that he claims to be a lot of things; rodeo clown, libertarian (far from it), loves his country (really, he loves his favorite parts and nothing more), and even states that he shouldn't be taken seriously. Problem is a lot of his followers take him dead seriously, and he takes himself seriously much of the time too it seems. Which means he's also a walking contradiction. His stances really do a lot of harm to generally good causes (like true conservatism/libertarianism), and as others have said he used to be a shock jock, and that's being nice. But his behavior is 100% predictable given his history, and frankly no one should be surprised if the fame and attention gets to him enough that he does something nuts or has a breakdown. I only hope he doesn't harm himself or others in the process.

This pretty much says it all RE: Beck, IMO

i think the plan is to do what Obama did, the conservative version
beat the libs at their own game, so to speak
the real question is what candidates they'll support, if they just support lame/same old republicans then they'll fail

This is the American left today. Just as they won't come out against ACORN's support of forced child prostitution, they joke about child rape and conservatives. haha. So Funny. Whats next, jokes about black slavery being good? Maybe some good jewish 'shower' jokes.. that would be hilarious. Maybe some jokes about the 9/11 victims jumping from the towers.. OMG.. That would be so classic and witty.

They should have panned around a bit more, so we could all see that there weren't anywhere near 25,000 people there and also confirm the crowd was 99.9% rednecks with baseball caps. In lieu of that footage, I think it's a safe assumption.

You do realize what the Villages is right? No, of course you don't otherwise you wouldn't be posting stupid crap like this. Its basically a high end retirement community. That sounds a lot like an area you will find a bunch of rednecks in baseball caps..

If anything, I bet its decidedly more east coast given the demographs I see here in West Central Florida. I guess if rich former NY/NJ residents are 'rednecks' to you, then you are correct.

You're such a douche... ACORN may be a mess but it does not mean they support child prostitution dumbass.

By the way, you forgot to defend Palin.

I dunno, when you go into like 15 offices and 14 of them say 'Hell yeah we'll help you with that illegal child prostitution ring!' that sounds to me like they probably DO support it. Of course the last one wasn't really against the illegal prostitution part, only when it became CHILD prostitution did they finally somewhat object.

I'm not sure I've seen one lefty in this forum condemn it either.
