Glavine signs with Braves 1 year 8 Million

amazing.

not that he is that good, just that it is that hard to find a pitcher that will give you 200+ innings in a season.

of course schilling got an 8 million dollar deal too with the red sox, but with incentives that can reach as much as 5 million more.

Disappointing for the Mets, since he does chew up innings, even though he's a number three starter at his age.
But I guess its good for the Braves fans since they got to enjoy his glory days and get to say goodbye.

ya, as a braves fan, i'm mixed on this signing.

clearly, glavine is still a 3 or a 4 anywhere. he isn't great anymore, but he can chew up innings and give your team a chance.

it is also good to be able to say good bye properly as this is probably his final year.

it sucks that he is the best we can do tho. the braves really need a solid #2 or #3 level SP.

if all goes well, the braves are looking at

Smoltz, Hudson, Glave, Hampton and James (switch the last 3 in any order you please).

if mikey can stay heathy one full season, the braves could do ok this year.
