I have a 17" monitor (about 15" viewable) that i now use for gaming, I am getting tired of the small size, but don't want to blow $400+ for a new 20-21" monitor. I have been searching the web and have seen a couple of glass lens type magnifiers that attach to the front of your 17" monitor and magnify 1.5-2x which gives you the equivalant of a 20-21 monito. The ones i found range in price from 40-90 dollars.

Is anyone using these to give the appearance of a larger monitor, do they work:
Are they clear, sharp, good color retention?
If anyone has any feedback i would appreciate it, Thanks!!

I play online combat flight sim and the bigger appaarant screen size would help alot with tracking identifying bogies while you are closing in on them.

A band-aid solution to say the least.

Save your money and buy a used/refurbished 21", I paid my 21" - $200.00 refurbished.

I don't know from experience, but it sounds like it could be hell on the eyes. Think of trying to stare through a magnifying glass for hours on end. It might not be the most comfortable experience.
