Came across this the other day when looking for a good/easy way to syncing my Skydrive and media PC. So far it's perfect.

From site:
"Gladinet Cloud Desktop allows you to access cloud storage like a local drive on your desktop. It also allows you to backup files, folders, and provides synchronized access to your data from multiple machines."

Microsoft seriously sucks at advertising some of their software. Skydirve, Mesh and the rest of the MS Essential package are amazing. Combine it together with Gladinet and it's exactly what I've been looking for.

I agree, I like MS and believe they have one of the best products out there but they really suck in advertizing and PR, its sad. Now agree, their products may not be original and stuff but still they are great.
Any other organization, when they launch a new product which is only tenth as useful, still has a major buzz for weeks... they really need to work on it.

Anyone know if Live Mesh has offline folder sync? I don't want to sync over the internet, or even save data in the cloud; I just want to keep some directories on my desktop/laptop identical with real time monitoring of file deletions/changes.

Basically Dropbox but completely over LAN.

Thanks for the input David. Synctoy would be PERFECT if it would just initialize every time a file is changed in one of the directories. (Ala Dropbox). From how much I've played around with it, it has to manually be run to sync the folders and I don't want to have to do that every time I make changes to either directory. I know you can add it to scheduler too, say, to run it every hour, but then the window pops up needlessly every hour even if I made no changes.

Right now I'm using PureSync for my music and Windows Live Mesh for My Docs and Pics, it's working alright for now. I wish I could use just one program for all of it; I really don't like Windows Live Mesh except for its simplicity, and it's the most integrated with windows so I feel like my personal data is more secure in that sense, but it offers no information as to how fast the transfers are going, etc, It's like MS is taking a real page out of Apple and taking the complexity out of everything but I wish they'd at least leave options in there for power users. I don't want to sync solely in my User folder, I don't appreciate the 50 mb file size and 200 folder limitation either. It's like MS purposely handicaps their products.

Dropbox so far is the only program that gets it right but it is entirely web based. Go figure.
