very hard to compare the two, I just chose gladiator since it's fresher in my memory, but both are excellent movies.

One is fiction and the other a gross distortion of history.

I prefer Gladiator because it doesn't pretend to be history.

Gladiator made it pretty "Hollywood" and kept it interesting.

Gladiator, just a better movie overall IMO. But this is a very subjective topic.

gladiator has cooler fight scenes, but just barely.

Braveheart.

Speaking of Gladiator, I just heard on Entertainment Tonight (I think) that they will be filming Gladiator 2 this year and Russell Crow will be in it.

He died at the end though  so I don't know where they're going with that. Maybe he survived.

Not even close... Braveheart by a long shot.

Gladiator was a good movie... but Braveheart was epic.

hell, they both rock but I like the cinematography (sp?) of Gladiator the most!

Gladiator for me. While the battle sequences in Braveheart were great, the slower parts in the story weren't nearly as compelling or engrossing IMO.

Gladiator, but thats probably cuz I find Ancient Rome infinitely more interesting than Medieval Scotland.
