<< While using an all-aluminum design, the Igloo 2400 delivers competitive performance to copper-based solutions, while remaining lighter weight and much quieter than 7000 RPM solutions >>

40 fvcking db isn't quiet.

The Igloo 2400 uses a 70x70x15 fan that moves 42.7 CFM at 39.6 dbA noise. I would say that it is extremely good noise performance ratio.

Compare to the YS Tech 6800 rpm fan, which moves 40 CFM at 48 dbA noise. The YS fan noise is typical of most 6800 rpm fans.

MrHelpful, remember each -3db is half of the noise. You can figure out how much less noise -8db is.

Is it as quiet as a 60x60x25, 3400 rpm fan moving 19 CFM air? Definitely not. But for the CFM, the Igloo 2400 fan is quiet.

It's a pretty nice cooler. I took pictures of the HS here: HeatsinkDatabase.com You can see the fan details and all.

The cool thing about GlacialTech coolers is that they all come with a thin layer of silver grease applied on the bottom, none of that thermal pad stuff. That silver grease has the consistency of AS2, but I'm not sure who makes it.

It seem to be very nice cooler, and nice pics too, but i would appreciate if you could look at the specifications of the Evercool ND12 HSF, which are :

Overall Dimension: 80*63.5*65mm
FAN Dimension: 60*60*25mm
Current: 0.2A
Fan Speed: 5000 rpm
Air Flow: 28.08 CFM
Noise: 34dBA
Thermal Resistance: 0.35¢J/W

would this HSF be enough to cool AMD Athlon XP 1600 ?
