Charlie makes no sense, and lost all credibility with me when he went on that little tirade bashing Nvidia including blacklisting when the website he uses for reference has an explanation of what happened which is nothing like what Charlie was trying to say happened.

Point of fact: AMD can't do PhysX. It would make sense if Charlie stuck to it being faster than the 580 in PhysX workloads, but slower when PhysX wasn't present... But the AMD cards have nothing to do with PhysX... They simply can't run it. So how then is it faster in PhysX titles which have considerable overhead where even a 6850 would probably beat a 580 if the 580 had to do the PhysX workload as well?

How does it go from faster than the 7970 when PhysX is present (you still need to render) yet slower than the 580 when it isn't? Makes no sense at all, ramblings of an affected man... Nothing else.

Periods and commas ;)

Kidding you, but I had to reread it a couple of times to understand what you were saying.

People can't take Charlie as the gospel. You need to understand that he's leaking rumors. Read what he says, remove the subjective "nVidia's doomed now!" rhetoric and take what he says as being generally correct, but not perfect.

Most of what he's been saying lately is pretty cryptic. Seems like he's trying real hard not to give up anything that will reveal his sources. This is why I think Kepler isn't right around the corner, but a ways out yet. (1 month+)

it will be I TOLD YA no matter what.

because Charlie's GTX 680 performance ranges from from HD6870 to GTX780

and the GK104 chip is anything from "clear win" and "very polished"
to "basically broken same as Fermi"

GK104 is Nvidia's best chip ever. Might suck though. Also it could just offer competitive performance.

speaking of which, I swear their burgers have gotten smaller over the years.

I lol'd. It seems like it was race to the bottom between them and Wendy's. A buddy of mine asked how much beef is in their patties, they responded months later w/74% "real beef". Ha!

Anyways, I'd really like to get nice second gen 28nm card when Haswell drops, so if both of these companies could get their rear-ends in gear (same goes for TSMC) that would be much appreciated!

McDonald's uses 100% beef. 74% is probably the beef to fat ratio content.

Yes, it is. So you pay for a 1/4 pound burger, they grill away ~1/4 of it, and you get what is left. Tasty.

26% beef fat... most of which is likely trimmed from other parts of the cow and then mixed back in.

That was a slip on my part. And totally on topic.

Haha, first two comments in that article made me LOL. Haha, ahhh good times, good times.

WTB GTX 670 Ti! NOW!!! DO IT!!! GET IN DA CHOPPA!!!

The Arnold voice completes this awesomely

Off to read the article...

"That can be translated as "Waiting for Kepler ... patience, patience, patience, the right time will come, and then ... it will be unbeatable (sic).""

Ha. Well, that would certainly be interesting. Depends on how much patience is required, I suppose.

That is how he rolls! He likes to reference to worst case performance scenarios when talking about nvidia rumors, and best case performance scenarios for AMD.

He basically said the benchmarks he was shown was great for gk104 in Physx and subpar in everything else. Note i pick "subpar", but charlie actually claims its much worse.. so in fact, i was being generous with my statement.

That's just what i got from the same "Charlie source" you are referring to. Did i miss some other details?

I guess we can go round 2 on the same rumor if you want... i thought its well known so wasn't interested in getting into lengthy debates on what the putative gk104 performance may or may not be based on leaks from Charlie's sources which may or may not be correct, based on cherry picked games. So..

As to your "good vibes", I aint seen or felt any.. so far its just delays and more delays.

The short story is that Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) will win this round on just about every metric, some more than others.

He's covered every base, and then make up more bases to cover.
