Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I'll remove if inappropriate.

I am giving away for free my Verizon Wireless Nationwide 450 plan, which has the unlimited $29.99 data plan in tact. If you wanted to have such a line or gave one up in the past and want it back now, here's an easy way to get it. I know these sell on ebay, but I have no interest in making money on something in my opinion should still be available to everyone. The line will have a 2 year contract, so you're protected against throttling, caps or limits until 11/2016.

NOTE: No phone included - you will need your own Verizon-compatible device.

The entire transfer process, known as an Assumption of Liability it is very easy to do. What is the Verizon Assumption of Liability (AOL) process?

- I turn over ownership of my unlimited data line to you
- You must meet all eligibility criteria to be a Verizon customer
- The entire transfer process is done over the phone with you, me, and Verizon Wireless.
- You do not need to be a current customer with Verizon Wireless for the unlimited data to transfer. You will provide the name you want the account to be registered under and a contact phone number.

It is very easy to do!!! As long as all goes well you can be up and the same day. See Verizon's own FAQ about the AOL on their website.

IMPORTANT:

To keep the Verizon unlimited data, you cannot switch to one of the tiered data plans. The unlimited data will remain intact as long as you keep a smartphone associated with the line. You must never put a basic phone on the line, and you must NOT upgrade your phone directly with Verizon subsidized/discounted device. To change phones in the future, you'll need to purchase them at full retail directly from Verizon or purchase them from a third party. Again, if you attempt to upgrade at a discount THROUGH Verizon, you will lose the unlimited plan!

DO NOT upgrade or accept a subsidized phone from Verizon! If for any reasons you lose the unlimited data feature, Verizon will not give it back to you. You are responsible for confirming assumption of the Unlimited Data Plan with Verizon before, during, and after the transfer process. You must provide your own phone to transfer this service plan.

DO NOT change the existing number during the transfer! The existing unlimited data plan phone number will be transferred along with the contract. You can change to a new number in your area code or transfer your existing number from a different carrier to the plan for free from the Verizon Wireless website, but you need to wait until after the transfer of ownership is complete.

Verizon is one of the few carriers that still allow transfers of unlimited data through the AOL process. However, the buyer assumes ALL responsibility for making sure Verizon upholds the unlimited data package on the transfer.

Please call Verizon (800) 922-0204 if you have any questions or concerns about the transfer process.

You may be subject to a $35 activation charge from Verizon on your first bill.

If you have questions, you must contact Verizon's Assumption of Liability department at (888) 832-4540 for assistance first.

Note: Your service assumption will be subject to a credit check. If your credit is not good, Verizon may require you to put down a security deposit.

I already have unlimited on my line (we have an even more ancient America's Choice II plan) but anyone looking on here may want some references -- Heatware, even eBay feedback, etc.

Mods may decide to move it to FS/FT forum I imagine.

Good luck -- can't believe the number of people I know who have just given up the unlimited or left Verizon and let it die when they left.

I had the America's Choice plan too! The minutes were for voice and data (ah those were the days:), but once I upgraded my basic phone to a smartphone, they forced me to switch to nationwide.

Not sure what kind of references someone would want, but I'd be happy to provide additional information if needed. The assumption of liability is done with a verizon rep over the phone, nobody is sharing any confidential details with me and they would call verizon directly. All the details of the plan would be verified by verizon before taking over the plan. I'm not asking for money, just giving this away, but I want anyone interested to be comfortable so ask anything you want to know!

I just wanted to update this thread to let anyone still interested to know the line has been claimed already. Thank you for your interest and have a good day.

Yep, I read something about 2015, but Verizon is known to push things out longer. So far, it's a feature that the new iphone is capable of and only works on t-mobile right now.

Also a side note, if someone was looking for an unlimited data plan with verizon, there is a rumor circulating that it won't be possible through AOL after November 13th (this Thursday). So if someone wanted to do this, I'd recommend acting quickly to find a line.

Yeah without WiFi calling 450 minutes is no where near enough for me.

I just started using T-Mobile wifi calling on mine. I haven't tested it in a bad reception area yet but we'll see how it goes.

The minutes and texting plan can always be adjusted once someone owns the account. Most people are interested in getting an unlimited data plan with verizon since it is no longer available to new customers. If someone wanted to pay more, you could even have unlimited voice, text, and data. The reason behind setting this up with only 450 was to keep the price of the monthly bill as low as possible.

Wifi calling sounds like a great feature, but with unlimited data you getting essentially the same feature with more coverage.

I know, I used to have the plan. To go from 450 minutes to say 1000 is a lot more. at 450 you're paying about $70-80 a month already.

I talk for a lot more than 450 minutes a month, but 90% of those calls are to other in network verizon phones so it's free. I guess depending on your usage, it could work.

Why not just use Hangouts with a GV number?

Barely use like 200 plan minutes now. Shit I used more gigabytes than minutes last month. Don't pay for a texting plan either.

If you can really avoid using minutes, there is a loyalty voice plan for $15 that gives you 30 minutes. Without a texting plan (since google voice does it all now) you could pay $45 a month plus taxes and fees in that scenario.

How stable is it now? I used it years ago and quality was a hit or miss sometimes. I use my phone for business so it has to be good when the call is on.

It's not possible for you to have used it 'years ago', as GV through Hangouts have only been implemented for about two months. That's on Android, on iOS it's a little more, maybe about a year.

Stable wise it is stable. Quality is very good in my opinion, although of course it is highly depended on your data connection. If your data connection is flaky, then voice calls will be, too.

I had google voice since it was grandcentral and using it with gizmo5 worked great years ago. On the phone, using a sip dialer over wifi worked, but quality was only as good as the connection. Depending on how you set it up, I think it can be an acceptable replacement for regular voice calls.

Using GV with Hangouts is specifically what I was commenting on.

I've had my GV number since Grand Central as well, and I did also use it with gizmo5 and had it working pretty well on my old Nokias (mostly through wifi, though).

Hmm had not heard of this. Almost tempted to get a single unlimited data line like that just for home internet.

I'm on an old family plan with my wife, but only I have unlimited data. Do use it for work too, so I need more than 30 minutes. My line serves as our home internet, so wife only has 2gb/mo to work with when I'm at work.

Yea GV with Hangouts is relatively new on android. I've used apps in the past that allowed wifi/cell data calling, but the quality was pretty poor and there was very noticeable lag. Then Google axed 3rd party apps and they stopped working anyway.

Hangouts though is badass. Quality wise I hardly notice a difference between it and regular cell calls. There is a slight lag, but it's far less than how 3rd party apps were. I've only ever used it with LTE. There is no isp where I live so can't say if it's better or worse with a real wifi connection. I have used Hangouts to make calls with my tablet and pc tethered to my phone and it works just as well though. It also finally does picture texts with your GV# too.

I used it with Talk-A-Tone which is now dead. It allowed calling and texting but quality was always meh. I've had GV on my iPhone for about a year now but never really used it. I should start using it more since I like the number I have on it lol.

Both Talkatone and GrooveIP were clunky but they were the best (read: only easy) options back then so if you want to do pure VoIP you don't have much choice.

Try Hangouts! It's much better!

Hangouts is much easier to use, but if someone wanted to avoid using it (for whatever reason) there are alternatives now that talkatone and grooveip no longer work. An app like csipsimple set up with a sip provider and number would be an good workaround. It requires a bit of work, but there are still ways to use google voice.
