Yes, these are in-store only at Microcenter. And from what I've heard, they will only let each person walk out of MC with a max of TWO HDs. So bring friends. I'm thinking of stopping by tomorrow and stocking up.

lol. I just had my mother go to MC to pick up an i7, motherboard, and RAM... I wonder if she'll be up for picking up some HDDs for me 😀

MC near here wouldn't let my boss buy more than 2 hard drives. Had to go elsewhere, where they were more expensive in order to get what he needed.

There is another good reason not to shop at the Egg.
Not just HDD. Egg's prices have gone ballistic on certain items.
Fry's is the same way too.
MC is now my upgrade store.
I recently have purchased 2500k, mobo, ram, ssd, hdd, etc from MC for much less than Egg or Fry's.

/me hugs my 2TB Samsung EcoGreen I picked up at NE for $31.99 shipped (open box) earlier this week. I'm sure Gillbot /hugs his too, along with several others that grabbed them.

MC is probably moving product that they purchased at the older, lower prices. Newegg moves much more inventory and are certainly selling product they purchased at the higher prices. Current hard drive pricing just shows you the speed at which retailers are able to move product.

I'm so glad that I snagged a 750 GB Samsung drive for my wife's Macbook when Newegg had them on sale for $50 in a Shell Shocker a couple of weeks ago. She was getting down to the last few gigs on the original drive and I was wondering if I should hop on that deal or just wait until the holiday sales. Looks like I chose wisely, since the drive is going for double that now.

Do you have a link/reference for the AMD combo? I didn't see it on the site or in the ad and I'm curious.

Thanks.

Just go down the right side of the page. The ad says: "Save on Motherboards when you buy select AMD processors"...

The deals aren't as good as they used to be, but they are still good. I've been able to get 2 of the 560 XII phenoms to run as quad core (need better cooling for that, though)

Are the prices of 2.5" hard drives going up as well?

Yes. As I mentioned above, the 750 GB Samsung I bought for my wife's laptop shot up from around $70 (I got it on sale for $50) to $100 in a matter of weeks. I have to wonder if this is going to screw with a lot of holiday sales, since those ads are generally printed at least a month or more in advance.

I see prices went up today at Microcenter. Picked up a 1TB WD black drive yesterday for $90 and today the same drive is $150. Glad I wasn't too lazy yesterday.
