give up Genome@Home TeAm?

I've been wondering if we shouldn't give up that team (I recall something like 5 active members)... everything neccessary is to change the team ID to our F@H team (198) so that the points get added to our F@H score. The work done is still the same, so who wants can work on G@H. Only thing neccessary for this is that the team members use the F@H/G@H client... what do you think? Merge both teams? Or F@H team is currently on pos 17 fighting hard to hold its position... 🙁

At the moment I'm busy working on tonight's stats thread, and after that I've got to get my F@H guides written up. Ergo, I'm probably not the one to do that. If someone else wants to PM Crazee with whatever updates they'd like to see about G@H in the new recruiting threads, that'd be great. I'd love to do it, but unfortunately I'm just too busy with other computer (and non-computer - like major aquarium cleaning and upgrading) stuff right now. Sorry. 🙁

It's not that being sentimentally linked to the project would be a problem (the Folding@Home client, when set to prefer G@H WUs, will download the G@H core and do genuine G@H work), but rather being sentimentally linked to the client executable itself, or perhaps the Team AnandTech group in traditional G@H. While I can certainly understand the latter, I see no reason why anyone whould have the former. 😉

I say join if we can help the F@H score(and the five agree); I've got a Athlon 700 cruching for our F@H team. 🙂

*Edit: After thinking about this a little bit.. I guess it's really not up to me since I've never crunched for the G@H project. 😱

I have dabbeled in both, I don`t understand the difference really. I abstain. Seems like only five people are registered to vote on this issue. The active members.

i am going to keep myself in the G@H top 100 as long as stanford keeps the seperate G@H stats updating/keep accepting G@H work from the G@H .99 client
the only way to get myself G@H points is to return the work under the 604374405 team number, not the F@H team number (198?)

i don't understand what the question is, are you saying you are going to contact stanford and try to revoke the 604374405 G@H team number?

no, what I was suggesting was to submit all new WUs to our F@H team... the G@H team would drop in the stats but then it would give our F@H team some boost... and the work done for science will be the same. But of course we don't try to force you... just maybe that whoever wants and maybe new G@H members will submit to F@H...
