For some reason, 80s rock songs and power ballads get me going when i'm working out or running on the trails. I used to run to stuff like the White Stripes or the Strokes but man, songs like More Than A Feeling and Livin' on a Prayer, and hell, songs by Journey really get my blood pumping. Even that song from the Transformers movie, You've Got the Touch, as well as the tracks from the Rocky IV soundtrack are great.

I didn't listen to music like this in the 80's, mostly hip hop. Anyone got some suggestions?

edit:
also, it doesn't matter if it was in the 80's, but as long as it has that same style/feel.

This list needs correcting:

The Cutting Crew - Died in your arms tonight
White Lion - Wait (is a way better power balled)

The ultimate power ballad: Winger - Headed For a Heartbreak.

Others:
Winger - Without the Night
Winger - Miles Away
Winger - Under One Condition
Winger - Spell I'm Under (up there with Heartbreak)
Winger - Lucky One
Winger had a few other good 'non power' ballads (ie. Who's The One) and mid-tempo tracks (ie. Hungry) you might like.
Journey - Faithfully
Journey - Send Her My Love (mid tempo?)
Journey - Open Arms
Def Leppard - Hysteria
Queensryche - Silent Lucidity (if it can be considered 'power').
Maybe a few Depeche Mode tracks.
I like The Outfield but they dont really have any power ballads. Just as The Cutting Crew - Died in Your Arms Tonight and White Lion - Wait aren't power ballads.

No one did as many good ballads as Winger. Three great albums; each one better than the previous. S/T < In The Heart Of The Young < Pull (some complex & heavy tracks on Pull). Check 'em out. You might like Kip Winger's solo albums too. BTW, Winger's guitarist, Reb Beach, is now touring in Whitesnake (played with Dokken before that).

I don't know if these are really 'power ballads' but:

Bad Company - Bad Company
Styx - Renegade
Billy Squire - Stroke
The Cult - Sweet Soul Sister
Def Leppard - Photograph
Foreigner - Cold as Ice
Heart - Barracude
Night Ranger - Sister Christian
The Outfield - Your Love
The Police - Roxanne
Robert Palmer - Addicted to Love
Scorpions - Rock You like a Hurricane
Scorpions - Still Loving You

Wasn't Sister Christian sung by the Damn Yankees?

Ausm

Nope. http://songfacts.com/detail.lasso?id=2738

No, although Damn Yankees would play the song as it was co -written by Jack Blades, bassist for Night Ranger AND Damn Yankees.

Blood Pumping and Power Ballad are mutually exclusive terms....
It must be slow and emotiona-*/l and th+e+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++***************+* < Gratutious Kitty typing ....
Then raise to a crescendo. That is the definition of Power Ballad.....
Pantera is the anthesis of "Power Ballad".

Cmon guys...hows about

Sheriff - When I'm with you.

Now that is a classic cheese 80's love tune! 🙂

OK in this line...I am looking for an 80's power song with the following lyrics.

"I can feel when we touch"

Can't figure out the song....

Only thing I can think of is "Sometimes when we touch" by Dan Hill.
