Correct me if I'm wrong, but they remove reviews like that? At least I thought that was the case with Spore.

edit: LOLOLOL nevermind, 66 1 star reviews, that's pretty funny

Even if they do, you should still do it. It has to hit some sort of nerve somewhere if they release two highly anticipated titles within a few weeks, and there is more negative buzz about the DRM than anything about the game itself.

I already bought and paid for the game on Steam prior to the official announcement confirming SecuROM on all versions, so leaving a negative review about the DRM is my only recourse at this point. I really like what I've played of the game so far, and it kinda sucks to feel the need to give something you actually like and want others to enjoy a bad review. Luckily, Amazon lets you give a Fun rating also, which I gave 5 stars.

Should had seen it before they deleted the majority of them and then tried blaming it on a computer error.

I have joined in the bombing, and will continue to do so for any title released with SecuROM. Thank goodness I decided not to pre-order this game at the last moment.

something similar took place when EA released Battlefield 2142 with IGA (in-game-advertising). it still has bad reviews on amazon and they lost a lot of potential customers. IGA repulsed so many people that many never even gave it a try and stayed with BF2.

74 1 stars and counting. I doubt it will reach the thousands that Spore reached though, namely because Spore was a much more anticipated title.

Give Spore and Mass Effect the same treatment too, if you haven't done so.

And those people were stupid crybabies. Because a few TEXTURES were for advertising, they filled their diapers until it ran down their chubby pink legs and made a big stink over nothing. Who cares if a billboard texture is for Pepsi or Slurm? In a shooter game, the idea is to kill and not get killed. If you're staring at a sign so long that you can't help but want to spew your emo rage across teh Intarwebz in reaction, you're a tool, and not a very sharp one at that.

It's funny, despite the 2k+ 1 star reviews, spore is still #2 on the computer games best selling list. Crysis warhead is in the top 10 as well. Goes to show that hype trumps reviews (but hey, we already knew that)

Unfortunately all this shows is that folks aren't voting with their dollars, don't care about the DRM, or just don't know about it at all. Or maybe EA's marketing is just that good.

Yup. I knew this would happen. I posted in the Crysis thread that people need to refrain from spamming bullshit 1 star reviews until we know some facts (some of which were posted but ignored of course) on this DRM.

I agree that those who get screwed over for whatever reason by the DRM after they bought the game can legitimately give the lowest review possible. But all these ridiculous internet outrages over shit they know nothing about is stupid. I wonder how many of those reviews are from people who had no interest in the game anyway.

edit: Haha wow, the "most helpful critical review", and a large number of other ones, are written by idiots.

Well, that's the point. I bought Crysis, enjoyed it, and now I bought Warhead. However, I did want to get my opinion across about how I felt about having limited activations.

To me, boycotting the game entirely defeats the purpose. I'm a gamer, so I want to play games. If my only recourse is not buy games... well, I might as well find another pastime.

To the naysayers that don't think any of the outcry is working, see what Crytek has to say. If EA/Crytek weren't taking notice of what's going on, they wouldn't be posting information about it, and looking into ways they can try to appease to gamer community. Granted, they may not come up with the answer we're looking for, but they are taking notice.

Introduction
As you will be aware by now we released an F.A.Q. explaining far more details about the DRM that is used on Crysis Warhead. Following on from the information we gave you last night we're also pleased to be able to tell you that EA have sent us the following message to pass on to you guys:

quote:
"EA is expediting development of a system that will allow consumers to de-authorize machines and move authorizations to new machines. This system will effectively give you direct control to manage your authorizations between an unlimited number of different machines without having to contact EA customer service."

Conclusion
Please keep in mind that we cannot commit to a specific time frame or give you a date on when this will be available, but it is definitely being worked on.

We hope that this will really keep you guys happy and that you can understand that we have been listening to your concerns and are trying to make as much progress as possible to help you all out as best we can.

I honestly believe that Crytek and their developers love what they do and are proud of their games (rightfully so), so hopefully they will rethink some current decisions and do the right thing in the future. The only way this will happen is if the gaming community voices their opinions.

No, spamming would be me posting a 1-star review 10000 times, this is just lots of people with the same opinion posting their views.

If EA wants these reviews to go away then they most certainly can make it happen. All they have to do is remove the DRM. If they don't care then it doesn't matter that people review the game like this anyways.

I will continue to freely express myself like this and I will also be voting with my wallet. There are plenty of great games out there without ridiculous DRM for me to play.
