GIS question

So I'm working on creating some shape files for a project (never used arcgis before today). These shape files are supposed to be rivers and I've got about 30 rivers I need to create. What I do have are lat/lon's for points along the river.

What I did was create an excel spreadsheet for the rivers with 2 columns and saved em as a dbase4 file. Then in arcgis, I added the lat/lons via the add XY data option.

So I'm at the point where it's importing all the points for the rivers but I'm not sure how to go about connecting the dots. I was able to create a new "edit" (dunno if that's the right terminology) and was able to manually connect the "dots" for one river but I'm hoping theres some way to automate this since there are many more shape files I'll have to create.

Any help would be appreciated 🙂

unfortunately, i don't know arcgis. i do have some experience with oracle spatial. we're experimenting with it a bit and i researched quite a lot. we are importing data from arcgis into oracle but working with it there.

this is the programming forum and your question is more along the lines of asking for general help using arcgis... just saying. i think you may have more luck
