A flower with a note delivered to her in one of her classes (maybe by a friend, or at my school the secretaries would sometimes get the flower at the front desk and then have a student helper deliver it to class). She'll totally forget that you didn't ask her in person and all you have to do when you see her next is say "Did you get the flower" or if you see her carrying it you can say "I see you got my flower."

<<the most boring-est time of my life>>

You must have been doing something wrong. And more to the fact, its not the formal prom thats fun, its what you do with your friends that night that makes it hella fun.

Proposing to her in public, especially infront of her peers, may embarass her. Heck, she might even be taking a really hard test.

You: So I see you got my flower.
Girl: Shutup #@#%@#%&%, I failed the test because of you.
You: Well, sorry. Maybe I can make it up to you by escorting you to the...
Girl: ..the prom? Are you kidding?! I'm gonna be grounded because of that test!
You: ......

It could be cool if it does has the ... desired effects.

for a moment, I thought this thread talked about the GIRLS song by beastie boys.

anyway, asking girls to prom reminded me of this silliest story that happened to me.
I spontaneously walked up to this HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT girl in school and accidently said "I kinda need a date for prom"!!!
DON'T EVER DO WHAT I JUST SAID. she commented about what I said, and that was when I realized how inconsiderate that sentence was... I got blown off!! :(... oh well, me learn from stupid mistakes...

anyway, few months after that, FROSH week, I accidently said to a group of girls "can you gimme a shower", she looked at me funny and I just realized what I said again!! it was meant to mean something completely different, but it was funny as hell, I'm good friends with this bunch of girls now, cuz they realized I always say dumb things later on!

walk up, sit down, whatever, chat a tad.... then "so, prom is coming up, are you going w/ anyone?"... then hopefully a "no" and then ask ... Just hope she doesn't so "no" quick and follow up w/ "but i think Joe Shmoe is going to ask me, hopefully soon" :)

I have another question on the same note. How far in advance should i ask someone to the prom. My prom is in the end of May so i'm thinking like 3 weeks before that. Sound right? I don't want to do it to early because then i might change my mind and too late could be too late. How far in advance would you all do it if it is for a girl that you don't know very well.

Well I already had a gf by the time prom rolled around so it wasn't that hard . . .

But I'd think about taking her aside and asking her in private in a sincere attitude. It's one of those things that once you're finished you're immensely gratified . . . or depressed. Good luck.
