my older account, created it when i was building gaming systems for rich-off-there-arses people- anandtech is a great place to get info :)

Wow, I wasn't expecting there to be a story behind it. Welcome back I guess!! Must have been nice being able to charge whatever you wanted to and not having the richies question you about the amount.

Ever been scoping out a home office setup in some rich dude's mansion and his wife walked in wearing nothing but a bathrobe? And you were like, "...where the heck did that funky bass line come from..."

/me remembers configuring jumpers for FSB and multiplier and editing IRQ settings...

Thank Heaven for Plug 'n Play.

Guys are just more inclined to like computers than girls are, just like with everything else, no different really.

My girlfriend loves all the typical stuff, i.e. shoes, shopping, "cute" clothes, what have you, but luckily for me, she knew her way around a comp before she met me, and she's willing to learn. I've shown her tons of stuff such as eMule, AdAware, etc., and when it comes time for her to get a new comp I'll guide her through the building process.

nah, mos of the people were jus overweight fellows (nuthin against them, i myself was fat when i was young :p) who couldn't even operate a cell phone. I usually jus got 10% of whatever the entire system cost. As for a hot naked wife coming on in, well....

Yep I remeber configuring the Cyrix 486DLC-40 that I used for a file server for my BBS.

6 Mitcumi single speed CD-ROms, each with their own ISA controller card, that needed the jumpers for IRQ, and Base configured separately. And throw Desqview and the memory management, it was tough.

Yeah I find a lot of women are pretty boring. They seem to do so little. You ask a bloke and he'll be into a sport, gaming, model cars/planes, hi-fi's, biking, mechanics (tinkering with vehicles) etc etc etc. So many women I've talked to just reply "I dunno..... shopping I guess" when asked, then you're buggered for stuff to talk about.

Many seem to simply be so self concious it takes up their entire lives. First, they buy beauty/women's magazines filled with airbrushed images of models. The women then feel really bad about themselves and go and spend their hard-earned cash on beauty treatments/clothes/shoes/sun beds/creams with "Rejuvinol" or other BS crap in it/anti wrinkle cream (from the age of like, 20-seen the adverts "too old for teenage skin?"?)/ stupid massage or foot spa-machines/ special razors that are pink to appeal to women/"specialist" shampoo costing the earth which has silicon in it which makes the hair look good for the night but is actually really bad for the hair, etc, etc, etc.

Bloody stupid.
A bit of makeup and regular exercise at the gym and they'll look better than if they spen thousands on "beauty" BS.

Yes, I've had long term relations with a couple of women like this....
