*note: this does not come from bitterness, i was not scorned, this is just an observation when girls complain to me about why the older guys they date never work out. i'm 23, and i find that i don't even have enough in common with most 21 year olds to form meaningful relationships.*

you know what i mean. an 18 year old girl goes out with a 24 year old guy, she thinks they're a perfect match when any other guy looks at that relationship and knows exactly what's up. i've known more than a few girls who went out with guys significantly older than them and wondered why it failed so quickly. what causes the girls to be so delusional? or do any guys here beg to differ?
 
The same can be said for young guys going out with older woman! My last girlfriend was 32 when we met and I was 19... lasted two years and ended badly. Mostly because she kept wondering when I was going to start acting her age.

no doubt, but that's not really my question. i know i will remain as attracted to 21 year olds as i am now, but it'll be purely sexual. it's not like i'd ever bring them to meet my family or friends.
 
There is actually some logic to why women prefer older guys and why guys prefer younger women (besides guys prefer younger women b/c they usually have tighter bodies). But women mature faster, so a 18 year old woman is on a different level than a 18 year old man. Therefore a 18 year old woman is more in tune with say a 22 year old man as they are on about the same maturity level. Seems logical to me.

Girls prefer to go out with older guys. Girls DREAD dating a younger guy. I've known girls that think this guy was *great* but because he was 6 MONTHS younger she wouldn't date him PERIOD. How bad is that? She would probably get too much agro from her friends her age. I would think its more a peer pressure thing for a girl to date a younger guy.

Guys don't care about a younger girl as long as shes not a lot younger. He'll get what he can.

i think that's bunk.... maybe it is just the females i know, but i know quite a few 20 year olds and they are not that mature

When I was 31 I dated a girl that was 21 and though the physical attraction was there she was rather embarrassing to be around when she opened her mouth (well at least for conversation) I actually ended up marrying a gal 5 years my senior only to end up getting divorced when she hit the beginning of Menopause. While it might be tough being a women it can be tougher being married to one! In between I've been with women my own age and a little younger/older. The companionship was much more compatible with them than it was with someone so much younger (though when you get to be 45, 10 years younger isn't that much of an age difference)

I'm now engaged to a women 3 years my junior and things are great. I have someone who will grow old and decrepid right along with me 😀:beer:😀

I'm sure they are more mature than most the guys that are 20 yrs old that you know.

I married a guy 7 yrs my senior. I prefered older guys because younger guys are more into the party scene/themselves and not looking for a miss right.. just a miss right now.. irs rare when you come across a guy at the age of 20-26 that wants to settle down.
 
I'm 34. My GF is 25. It's not easy as she hasn't 1/2 the life experience that I have. That's NOT a pat on the back for myself; it's an unfortunate fact. She just doesn't understand "the world" sometimes and I'm either too disgusted or too LMAO to explain it to her.

on a somewhat related note, this applies as well when girls go out with jerks, they think the guy is just dreamy, but you know hes a jerk and try to warn her, then afterwards she wonders why things went badly
 
My fiance is 10 months younger than me. When we met he was 22 and I was 23...never presented itself as a problem. Now he's 31 and I'm...well you do the math!😉

He has an old soul and I have a young one so it's worked out!

I think though the older a couple gets the less age really means anyway. When you're younger there are far more differences in maturity.

girls don't DREAD dating younger guys. every gf i've ever had was older than me. my current gf is 2 years older than me. girls that limit themselves by dating only guys older than them need to take a look at their own maturity level.
