I normally don't use bleach, just detergent. Then I saw the ad on TV saying that you should wash your sheets with bleach to kill bacteria. So I got some bleach and put in my sheets with my whites. Then two girls told me that my sheets would go from dark blue to really light blue. Well they are done washing and my sheets are still dark blue. I even poured the bleach directly on them! Girls can't drive, they don't know laundry.. Wtf are they good for?

we use to have bleach at work for cleaning surfaces. i got drops all over my clothes and left white spots all over teh place.

it will turn your sheets light colored. just soak it a little longer...with a little strong concentration...and you'll see some lightness.

Were you using chlorine bleach, or color safe bleach. In any event they would have been wrong. Chlorine bleach wouldnt have turned it light blue, it would have made if whiteish/yellowish, funky looking. My bet is you were using color safe bleach, which probably wouldht have the same bacteria fighting capabilities as chlorine bleach.

Just use Powdered Tide with Bleach Alternative. Got top scores in Consumer Reports for stain removal, kills bacteria, and is much cheaper than any other good detergent.

My girlfriend does the laundry, I don't even worry about it. On the rare occasion I have to do a load, I just throw in some Tide with bleach and press the button.

How can you use the word "Tide" and "Cheap" in the same sentence?

$20 god damned dollars for a box of detergent is NOT cheap!

I buy the $5 for 20lbs crap and it works just fine.

True. I don't think there are a whole lot of differences in the chemical composition of laundry detergent across brands.

If you poured the bleach directly on your sheets and it didn't leave white blotches, you were NOT using normal chlorine bleach.

i guarentee it. you used some other stuff like vinegar or something, you did not use plain jane clorox.
