I dont know what I am going to do with myself.... My head is so fvscked up right now I dont know what to think.... I am happy for her and all because she really wants to do this, but she is expecting her acceptance letter tomorrow... Its not like I could go visit her or something....

Anyone have anything enlightening to say?

How far is it from New York to Rome? anyone know?

Either learn to deal with it or break up with her.

Those are your only two choices. Good luck! :)

It's not too bad, you'll survive. Just make sure you get tickets early in the spring and in the fall and winter, they are the cheapest at that time.

Dude, I hate to say it, but I don't think long distance relationships work. I tried it with this girl that had to go back to Canada a while back, and it was terrible. We both really tried, but it was just too hard with all that distance- the phone just doesn't cut it if you're trying to make a relationship work.

You should consider breaking up, but at least stay in touch.

I'm not trying to upset you or anything, but if she's your first GF then you will be better off in the long run. See as many women as possible while you're young! :)

EDIT: so if you're 19 and been going out for 4 years (all of high school I imagine), then you are DEFINITELY better off dude. Don't worry, there are lots of great women to meet and get to know better. I know you're really in love with your GF now, but believe me you can feel that way about someone new.

Keep your head up, and things will be okay! :)

shes not my first girlfriend, but first serious one... shes awesome, i dont want anyone else

ive heard all the crap about there being other fish in the sea, but why end a good thing?

and i know plenty of other girls, all of which i cant stand something about... there are only a few girls that i know that i can have a normal conversation with without myself being completely annoyed and their stupidity.... my gf is the first girl i have met that can hold an intelligent conversation consistently, and actually cares about something other than what someone thinks of her.... that was a lot more garbage than i felt like taking out tonight, oh well

dow...distance does wonders...to kill a relationship...doesn't work..if u stay together she'll come back changed and want more...
also, she'll imagine the nights in b ed w/ you and miss that and start flirtin w/ italian dudes cause face it, girls love foreign dudes...and you'll start to check out other girls..blah blah blah...in short, break up now, if you're both still single and thinkin about each other all the time..and assuming she doesn't change cuase of the experience rekindle...

Unless she's butt-ugly she's going to have a bunch of Italian guys hitting on her constantly.

That's a load. Staying together longer just because you've been together for 4 years is just stupid.

Sometimes you have to face the truth. I'm not saying break up with her because I know nothing about your relationship. I'm saying that sometimes you have to be honest with yourself and if you guys aren't going to be together any time soon, it might be the best thing to break up.

I moved to LA and broke up with my girlfriend of 3 years because she had no intention of moving out here. You're 19. You'll find someone else, if not her again.

So, I can hope that you can deal with her being away, but don't count out breaking up because you've been together for 4 years already.

well, personally, i think this will be the end of your relationship. not that you should try to stop her.

You don't want to know what I was going to post, but then didn't because I didn't want to be mean.

yeah i know about all the italian stallions over there... but i trust her 100%, shes had opportunities to cheat on me before and hasnt...

but anyways, breaking up is not an option not because we have been going out for 4 years, but because I love her... unless something terrible has happened, i CANT break up with her...

Don't be naive. Love isn't the only thing a relationship needs to keep going. Reality is sometimes a greater force than love.

My GF (at the time) went to europe for a month. We had been dating for a long time. She cheated on me while she was there.

Dude! You need to think a little more clearly, though I know that's hard to do right now. You really don't think you ever want to be with another woman?

There are SO many beautiful women out there, and they're just out there waiting for you! :)

If you haven't seen it yet, you NEED to watch the movie "Swingers." Believe me, you need to see it dude! You'll feel better in no time. Okay, you may need to drink *a little*, but who doesn't these days?

ah if she feels the same way... then maybe this will work.... just visit her every month if you can afford it...

also, stop thinking about her every moment you're not with her..it'll make it harder....
take up some sort of hobbies or something.....

I wouldn't worry too much. I've spend a couple years in Italy, most of the guys are pretty ugly. And stink too, it's common to only bath once a week there.

breaking up is not an option.... i thought i already explained that as best i could...

heres a question... i am going to a local community college right now... would it be to my advantage to get the hell out of this town to change up my life a bit while she is over there? i was planning on going to mansfield univ. in fall 2003 but im thinking maybe just going fall 2002 to give things a change on my end of the stick...
