There is NO reason a child should be carrying a knife, especially in school.

There are a lot of "allowable" things in school that can be used to harm another person. If this girl wanted to kill someone with it, she probably would have. It only takes a split second. Clearly she was using it to cut some god damn food. People are idiots.

During HS this girl had a birthday and had brought a kitchen knife to cut the cake at the cafeteria. She was immediately tackled and taken down by the police - the knife almost stabbed her stomach. Yes, we had police officers in school. After that, we couldn't even use normal scissors in school and had to use these plastic scissors which couldn't cut through wet paper towel. Talk about overreacting...

Um. I bring a knife to school every day. Of course, I've only actually used it a couple times at school, but this is ridiculous. I mean, in this case they should arrest her if she brings a decent pair of scissors to school. Just as dangerous.
