I always keep some spare cash in my account for impulse purchases. Try doing that or get a credit card.

Well if you read everything I said in my previous posts you'd understand that I precisely don't "do that", on purpose, and you wouldn't suggest that I get a credit card since you'd have read that I did mention I own one and do use it.

So is this game any good?

Probably not.

This will probably be like how Amazon gives away a different paid app every day on their Android app store. Once in a while there's a good one but most of them are so bad they're not worth it, even for free.

Once in a while they may put a good game on sale in the middle of the week but I'm guessing they'll save the good stuff for weekends.

Oh hey looks like I was right, more sales = less good sales.

Who the hell is going to buy a truckin' game anyway? Even for $3.40? I wouldn't buy it if it was free! Not worth the time required to download.

I've bought just about all of the 18 Wheels of Steel games. They're a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, because since I was a little bitty kid I always wanted to be a truck driver.

Not to knock 18 Wheelers, but I agree with AstroManLuca. Just like Amazon.com which is always putting something on sale....most of the sales aren't exactly great. I suppose more sales always mean more chance of *your* game going on sale. Here's hoping Witcher 1 is up tomorrow!

That is true, there are a lot of niche games that will only appeal to a few people. I'm guessing they'll save those for the daily deals since they'll want to put the games with universal appeal on midweek or weekend sales.

It's just that if they're really going to put a new game on sale every single day, they're going to end up putting a lot of crappy games on sale. Oh well, that might be all that's needed to get people interested in them.

Shh! Don't give them ideas!

I bet this has already been in the works for a long time... :p

"Once the average for steam user accounts hits 100 games we will release the teaser trailer for HL3"

The sound of money flying from nerds pockets to their bank pits would be heard, even though it's happening digitally.

Today it's a vehicular combat game called Metal Drift. Again only $3.40, looks like it has pretty good graphics.

Problem might be finding people to play online. It's a couple years old.

Doesn't really have single-player mode? Does it utilize controller?
Looks worth a play, but also looks like a pass.

Far as I can tell, the single player mode is just bot matches. Don't know if it supports controllers. One user review on Metacritic says it doesn't, but you can probably get it working. It likely just doesn't have native support for the Xbox 360 controller but you can get it working with Xpadder or something.

I agree with the sentiment that this is too much of a good thing. I'm sure they'll throw in the occasional hot deal type game randomly to keep people's interest, but thus far its been mostly filler that would come in a publisher/developer bundle along with a few games people actually wanted. These aren't games that can reasonably stand on their own legs.

However, so long as daily deals are there in addition to their Bi-annual mega sales and midweek sales, it can really only help the small under-appreciated or niche titles find some extra sales.

So now what happens during the holiday sales? I mean now that there are daily deals, the holiday daily deals aren't such a big deal.

Unless they stick to AAA titles and packs for the holidays.

Holiday Daily Deals are still going to be big and probably feature games you wont see on the normal DD.

As for the normal DD, I don't know why people wouldn't expect stinkers, it has to happen having a sale everyday.

More sales are better overall though regardless.
