Not to defend what is 30 seconds of my life I will never get back (could not stand it any longer) but just from the fact that many of you mentioned "teh boobiez" or some sort of sexual touch tells me that giving a side hug is not always bad. Some women (and men) really do get uncomfortable with what is essentially complete body contact. Even as a modern man I save that sort of contact for my wife only, I find hugs with her to be part of our communication in a way. Personally I prefer the A-frame hug for all others as you still get all the comforting contact of a hug but usually without anything that would make someone else uncomfortable.

I don't know about anyone else (I have a big fear of being touched), but I never get... all up on... people I'm hugging. It's mostly shoulder and a little upper chest contact.
