GigglyGrinch forums hacked :(

If my site were hacked, I'd want to know asap, even if it's a phone call in the middle of the night. Anyway, I see Heather's site is back up. Good.
 
I believe the site was only down for about 2 hours, if that.

There doesn't seem to have been anything malicious about the hack, no data was altered. However, investigations are still continuing!

On a side note, some of you really need to grow up - "with a name like that it deserves to get hacked" - no website ever DESERVES to get hacked...maybe apart from your's for being such a dork!

Well, this thread certainly brought out the assholes. :|

I'm glad she got it fixed. Does she know what was exploited and how to fix it?
 
Now why did I think she was in CA all this time?

I guess I saw some pics of her by the coast in CA, and assumed? Or did she used to live in CA?

I just found out that the forums were hacked. Tim and I were awake at 1:30 this morning, so a call would have been fine. I know Stu has our number and RossMAN used to as well as a few other memebers.

As for GigglyGrinch, you can blame ViperGTS for that one. He's the one that dubbed me that. 😛

I'm still trying to catch up at my forums to find out exactly what happened.

And yes, I used to live in California. I moved to Virginia last year to be with my now fiance.

We're hoping not. We are hosted by AddAction. Tim (my fiance for those that don't know) is going to do some checking when he gets home. I know more about computer stuff than I used to, but still not enough to check our logs and things. *Sigh* I'm still learning, though.

You wouldn't want to know if your forums got hacked and possibly all information lost? That may not be a big deal to you, but I'd like to know that all the hard work by all my admins and members hadn't been lost.

Do Tim or Stu do semi-regular backups?

Just login to cPanel, click backup and do a full backup.

If you have a broadband connection it should only take about 10 minutes.
