Gigaram

The specs on the RAM seem pretty good, although $185.95 for 1GB seems pretty steep to me. My Corsair TwinX2048-3200CPT (2GB) was $303 (also from Newegg). Unless RAM prices have gone up...

na, just because of the cheap price and unbelievable timings, but I have 1 gig now, so I think this G.Skill would be a nice upgrade. That and my watercooling kit thes coming tommorow should help me for my 3ghz goal.

I've got 2x 1GB PC3200 ECC REG of GigaRAM. IT is VERY solid and stable at stock speeds, however OC'ing results are not very great at all. The most I can get stable is around the 211 MHz Range. I've actually had to back it down to 209 for 100% stability in all conditions. As with all unknown names in RAM there will be about an equal number of people for it as there are that absolutely hate it for whatever reason. I have to say it works for me. = my .02

Good luck.

You're gonna need it too, since 334 HTT on that Epox...well, i just hope you can get it to happen 😉

My guess is you'll hit about 2.8 GHz stable, but i hope you prove me wrong 😛

Ya I think thats whats gonna kill me. Not many boards that can hit 333fsb. Although I'll give it my best. Im guessing 315ish will be the top. But doesnt hurt to try.

I dunno...seems like a pointless upgrade to me, since you'll never notice the difference...

If you were upgrading to 2 GBs, it'd make more sense.

Trying to get a nice upgrade under $200, Ill add another gig later. Just dropped $250 on watercooling and now thinking about new ram. Ballistix PC3200 are nice too and a lil cheaper, but that G.Skill doing DDR600 is nuts and will last me for a very long time.

I hate to keep harping on this, but that's the problem.

You can't just add another gig later w/o defeating the purpose of buying that G.Skill.

If you want to add another 2x512 MB later, you'll have to run @ 2T, which will pretty much negate that performance improvement you got by running such high bandwidth RAM.
Also, you'll notice people have a lot more issues trying to run 4x512 MB, myself included, which is why i now have 2x1024 MB 😉

Save your money for 2x1024 MB man 🙂
