Can someone help me, i just got a gigabyte 6600 pci e and when i try to load a game it tends to freeze half way into the game and during counter strike it freezes every few minutes. Is is my vid card? or hardware?

What are the game video settings? A 6600 is not going to be able to handle very high video setting.

Also, the drivers or bios of the card might need to be update in order to run certain games.
Goto the Gigabyte website and search for drivers, etc. and maybe FAQ about games.

Finally, run a graphics benchmark on the card, and see how it performs.

I updated the bios and turn all the setting to lowest, but it still freezes once in awhile, is it my other hardwre? or could it just be that the vid card has bad performance.

Try turning off AGP Fast Writes in the bios.
