I feel you should stop worrying and buy the 7VRXP. If you'd prefer something more conventional, stick with the 7VTXH with the KT266A chipset. Either way you're a winner.

I agree I Have a ga7vtxh with a amd1800+ its great for OC and its stable it run hotter then outher mobos but its ok. I also like the dual bios and easy tune you can OC pretty easy.

That's something I like to hear considering that my last mobo was an msi k7t turbo r when it was brand new. There were so many problems with that chipset and that 4 in 1 driver....

No, It doesn't run much hotter. The difference lies in the way the temps are measured on Gigabyte mobos. The thermocouple sensor actually touches the CPU's underside, unlike some mobos that measure temps with a thermistor in the Socket-A cavity.

I think I finally decided on the gigabyte 7vrxp. One last question, though...right now I've got a socket A athlon 1.4. I plan to upgrade my current memory and board to the new gigabyte, but I can still run the athlon with this board, right? I think I can, but I want to make sure before I go through with it

Thanks pastorjay. I was prety sure that was the case anyway, i just didn't want to spend several hundred dollars and then find that not to be true.
