Gigabyte UD3R or EVGA 750i/780i.....?

Basically im setting to replace this P5Q Pro. Ive had it since September 2008 and its been giving me wierd, random issues every sense, ontop of some poor OCing results. Anyways...

Im currently pondering the GB UD3R, http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813128359 . But im worried that my Enzotech Extreme-X Cooler wont fit, thats minor though as I can always dremel down the top mosfet sink.

My other options are an EVGA 750i FTW http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813188026 , or the Nvidia reference 780i http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813188043 . My concerns with these are the p1ss poor QC on Nvidia chipsets and downright poor reliability. Also the large NB cooler which i understand runs incredibly hot. The only thing appealing on these boards honestly are SLi support and the sideways SATA ports (yes...really, I love angled ports).

The Biostar TPower P45 could also be a wild card, but at $160 its hard to susgest over the $120-$135 Gigabyte UD's. http://www.newegg.com/Product/...16813138118&Tpk=tpower

Thanks in advance for any help and opinions on these boards. Or even susgestions for others, im looking to keep this under $200.

Don't make the mistake of passing over a UD3R board. I am contemplating selling off my Maximus II Formula board after 480fsb was my max with 4g on my Q9650. The UD3R & P love quads are can do 500fsb. What I'm saying is its a great overclocking board, better than my more expensive MIIF board which I learned after alot of reading how Asus left the southbridge firmware outdated through many bios updates and have not fixed the pull-ins... read about it in the XS thread, Maximus II Formula board.... a new P45 king? There is a member named E.V.O. who has posted issues like i've metioned above on the Asus V.I.P. forum and things have still not changed... I am staying away from Asus for a while, a looooooooong while!

Don't bash nVIDIA too much. I loved my 680i.

You could of gotten some DDR2 1200 with that board!

He could've gotten DDR2-1366 as well. 😛

 Didn't know they had DDR2 1366!

They don't. Sorry if you didn't pick up my sarcasm, but the box says "Supports DDR2 1366". Haha
