i have the k8nxp-sli gigabyte board and a western digital raptor and a plexter sata dvd.

so here is my problem when i use the silicon image sata drivers and put them on a floppy and hit f6 during the install i load them ok, before i had a floppy it crashed.

so it goes and i format the drive hit f8 to accept and it load the drivers ... ect.

then it reboots it should load windows but it goes back to inspecting your harware and the f6 prompt .. never gets to loading windows??

any one help?

Yeah the simple way to make sure is to go back into bios on reboot then select the hard drive as the boot device or if that doesnt help then disable everthing except the hard drive in bios boot config. Either way you still must enable the hard drive to boot first in the bios HDD config.

Is your boot sequence in BIOS set to boot from the silicon image controller? Should be listed as SCSI/RAID or something that has SCSI in it. And boot third party controller (still maybe not the real sentence,..) must be set to enabled too
