Gigabyte K8NXP sli raid/sata/hd problem (somewhat different)

I have searched on here and been reading over the weeks and was pretty sure ik new what to do once i got things up and running....

I disabled the raid 5 function in the bios and the other ide/sata raid, however when windows installs it says Unkown Drive and doesn't list any info for my raptor. (this is an SP2 upgraded CD which i've used plenty of times).

What the helllllllllllllll do i do to fix this. I think i messed up cuz it came default with raid on and i went in there and did a lowlevel format, but what the hell would that do to the drive.....

Someone help please asap, thanks.

i press f6 and nothing comes up.

it says windows was unable to find anything that needed drivers...... it says <none>

i try and hit S to put one in anyway, but i dont even have any drivers on a floppy.

You need to set up the raid in the BIOS. I pushed f10 I believe and it recognized the drive and I set the RAID to single drive max.

have you made sure the jumper on the drive is set to master? sometimes the "little" things are overlooked

f10 on what screen?? i think thats save & exit

Not in Bios at all.
Just when the pc is coming up as you would normally enter bios, hit f10 and enter a special raid utility gigabyte has.

i press f10 and nothing happens.... when the raid is enabled i can do control S to go into the raid setup, but i was under the impression you aren't supposed to do that and use that jbod single disk. that was the wrong way.

I have single disk raid enabled and get excellent results with HD Tach.

I prefer it because you can add a drive much more easily this way then if it was disabled and you try to enable it.

where am i supposed to get these drivers from then? this is ridiculous how its not working....

trust me i am no noob, i even tried single disk jbod setup but i dont have any drivers it keeps sayin it doesnt even know what it wants for drivers

you are a noob if you cant find drivers from the bloody hardware that you own. you put the drivers on a floppy, you press f6 when you are installing windows and you select the drivers off the floppy so windows knows what the fsck you want it to do.
