I work and represent Ewiz/Newbiiz. i am also the one that set the price for this by accident. it was initially for a different product and the person that i sent the file to upload, had the wrong file. this is my human error and our system automatically set it to limit 1 per customer. we found this late last night but were not able to get into the company to change it because of the security guards. we changed the price ASAP but obviously it was too late. if there is any hate, please show it towards me. as this was my mistake. we do put in our disclaimer a note that things like this may occur. we have brought the community many great products and great prices and we look forward to continuing that, but please don't blame the company for one mishap that was done by me. if youd like to blow up at anyone please email me or send me a pm. otherwise ill keep doing my best to bring you guys great prices.

Gotta say, it's bad news for ATi's pricing when even pricing errors have people hemming and hawing over whether or not it's worth it.

Hi Brian,
I appreciate the honesty, and to be truthful I thought the price was to good to be true so I expected a cancellation email. However I think you should take back to your company the need for a real time based inventory. Mistakes will happen but If I had to take a guess this error did not affect <50 orders, probably in the triple digits. Could have limited the impact if you only sold enough that you had inventory for, minimizing the customer impact (only sending out cancellations to people that you had inventory for).
To me this was just a little salt on the wound as it was not my first cancellation due to pricing error from ewiz. The other item was on a 8800GT that was at MSRP, but this was during the peak market prior to christmas so they sent me an email that the order was canceled as the item was back ordered with no estimate of resupply. No big deal except for the next day the same product was re-listed above MSRP:(
Truth is just provide good deals and most of us will be back.

Hmm, whatever happened to the laws that penalize companies for false advertising ? Seems like everyone should get thier cards at the price they ordered them at. Newegg just bites it when they make a mistake but ewiz retracts all orders ? Can't say I'll be dealing with eWiz any time soon.

Its one thing when a third party screws up an advertised price, the law allows retractions in that case I believe, but when a company makes the mistake I thought they were bound by law to deal with it.

Yea guys ewiz is not the only one that has this policy- Price, specifications and terms of offers are subject to change without notice. Newegg.com is not responsible for typographical and/or photographical errors. Retail products are accompanied by the original manufacturer warranty. Newegg.com does not offer any technical support or sales advice. Customer pays return shipping charges for all RMA services. Newegg.com reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.
althought i havent seen newegg mess up on pricing, it is there incase they do. so $hit happens.

Actually they have, many times. Each time someone makes a pricing mistake on newegg though, NewEgg honors thier price. I'll never buy anything from a company who has no accountability for thier own mistakes.

Hi Brian,

Why is shipping so high on items like this? It was ~$12 when it was first posted at $82 and now it's $14.43 at $155 for me (CA > AL). An item this size should only be $6-8 for UPS ground. Is the extra charge for handling?

i have no idea how you can expect it to only cost $6-8 UPS. have you actually looked at shipping rates lately? the fuel surchage alone on a package from CA to AL is like $2 from fedex.

CA to AL for a 2 pound or so video card box , with box and packing foam with all the fuel surcharges now is a lot more than $6-8.

Not to mention its shipping and handling. Boxes are not free either.

That is plain idiotic. that they dont honor their mistakes , so you wont buy from them?

its not like ewiz does this every week or something. the only reason every store puts those disclaimers on everything is people like you class action lawsuited buy.com 6-7 years ago for a 19" monitor for $120 that really cost $600 or something.

remember guys, newegg does not have to honor their price. but they do, and thats what stands out with newegg. i would to if it were my choice. not EVERY SINGLE COMPANY IN THE WORLD honors prices. unfortunately the upper management said on this product and situation there is no way we can honor prices, so we cant. simple done.

Why not just email some exclusive promo codes to those who wasted time and had their order canceled as a start? As you know, word spreads fast and you could be on your way to getting the volumes your competitor does.

Promo codes are allowed. However since you are representing eWiz, you'd best ask the moderators since it could be considered advertising.

from the rules:

What about COUPONS and PROMOTIONAL CODES?

There are no restrictions on posting coupons or promotional codes in this forum.

What other kinds of posts are not permitted?

No SPAM! This includes:

For the ones that still like a card for that price (after rebate, though) look at Diamond Viper 3850. Come to about the same amount as for the original deal shipped. Combine this with GCO or the 5% coupon, it'll give you an even better price, if the rebate comes through.
Hope it's worth it for someone.

That's a really good deal if the $25 off coupons are still active and anybody hasn't used theirs yet. Big rebate though.

I order items all of the time and use UPS ground. I just ordered a 4lb UPS battery last night and the UPS ground shipping was $8.31. NE shipping is $6-8 for 3 day UPS for many of its items. Fry's ground shipping for almost anything is $6-8. I would expect the mom and pop shops to charge more because they don't get the discounts that bigger shippers get. Ewiz/Newbiiz is not a m&p shop and has almost always had higher shipping than their competitors. When I was ordering RAM from them a few months ago they charged $8+ for Priority Mail when it was $4+. You notice that I did not get a reply from Brian. I suppose we will start seeing the shipping rates go up soon because of fuel but I have not seen it yet at the online places where I normally order from.
