Gigabyte GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3 doesn't show compatibility with Corsair 2X2048-6400C5

Is this wrong or will this mobo not support the 8GB that I have already purchased. In fact, it says that it is capable of up to 8GB of RAM but I don't see any 2 GB sticks for 800 MHz being compatible with this mobo. Is there something wrong or am I out of luck with 8GB of 800MHz memory anyways? I guess this would make my choice easy if this mobo won't work, and if the P5K-deluxe wifi is.

Thanks,

Steve

The P5K-Deluxe doesn't show compatibility either? What in heck is going on. They say they support 8GB, but yet only approve of 1GB sticks. Something has to be wrong.

None of the mother boards manuafacturers show compatibility for this memory, but corsair show compatibility on their website for all of the P35 models almost, but only test their modules in the Asus.

Just because the board isn't listed on the memory configurators doesn't mean that the RAM won't work on it. I don't think my board is listed on any of them, simply because the RAM manufacturers only test on the more common models.

Anyways, I don't bother looking at those memory compatibility lists. As long as the board manufacturer states that the board accepts up to 8GB total, and 2GB per slot, and the speed rating is compatible, that's good enough for me. Regardless of whether the board or RAM manufacturer has explicitly tested and approved a particular board-RAM combo.

The question of the importance of QVLs has also bugged me for quite a while. Some people say it's vital to stick to the QVL, others say it's rubish. I intend to buy memory that seems closely related to something on the QVL.
