Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3 (rev. 2.1)

I need a new mobo to power my 45nm Core 2 Quad Q9450. I've used Gigabyte boards before but are there any better choices in this price range (around $120)?

I plan to overclock it but I'm not really an expert so I need a software tool or pre-set configurations to do it for me.

Thanks.

Don't get the S4, you won't be able to mount a TRUE (ThermalRight Ultra Extreme 120) on your CPU unless you remove the heatpipe cooling system from the chipsets. The regular S3 cools fine and you'll have no problem mounting a TRUE 🙂 Why get a TRUE? Cause it cools the best, looks wicked and has a cool nick 😛 "True cooling with a TRUE cooler" 😀 I'm using an EP35-DS3R so it's basically the same 🙂

I'm using that right now, a Q9450 @3.2GHz /w stock vcore with a TRUE + Nexus 120 Silent and the temps are very low (35/36C with TjMax @ 95C at idle, 48-ish at full load Prime95 10h+). Not to mention it's running *dead* silent. The two TriColor fans inside my P182 at low make more noise (the only things I hear actually)... Waiting for the last two Nexuses to arrive (out of stock 🙁 only one retailer selling those here in Denmark 😕)

Just got the board today. I got a Tuniq Tower 120 (before I saw the last post) to cool it.

I'm wondering, is it OK to put such a big cooler in a tower box without support? Will the weight bend or damage the motherboard?

The Tuniq, unlike the Ninja B, comes with a S775 backplate mount so you should be OK. For Ninjas, consider buying the Thermalright LGA775 Bolt-Thru kit if you have a S775 board.
