Gigabyte ga-h270 gaming 3

Anyone have any experience with this board?
I don't plan on overclocking and looking to put in i7-7700k
Just purchased to replace my gigabyte ga-78lmt-usb3 with an amd fx8350
Wondering if it's worth it or return and buy something different?

Well generally people ask about components before they buy it 😉

It looks like a decent board with most features an average person would want (outside of the overclocking you say you don't want to do).

About the only reason to return the board for something different would be if you wanted to get a Z270 motherboard so you at least have the option to overclock in the future if you change your mind.

You don't say how much you bought it for, but Newegg's price seems a little high for a H270 motherboard. I only paid about $5 more ($130) for my Z270 Asrock Taichi which included additional features like Bluetooth/WIFI.

I did some research! haha and everyone seems to say it was a good board but a second opinion always helps! All the reviews only had about 4 people so i was skeptical.
I just got into building my own and pretty new still so I wasn't sure what to exactly look for.

I don't know much of anything about overclocking so it wasnt a thought for me really. Might change in the future. I game mostly and everything i read said it didnt matter much for gaming or if i got a newer chip which i planned on with the i7 7700k.

My apologies i purchased it from my local microcenter for 105 with a 15$ rebate. I seen newegg was quite more. Hmm i already have an ethernet connection so wifi isnt really a thing and idk if i really need Bluetooth.

I did see though that newegg had a deal on the ASrock z270 killer/sli for 120 with a 10 dollar rebate

If it were me, I'd a least buy a Z270 on sale so you have the option of overclocking in the future. I don't currently overclock my CPU either because it is still fast enough, but maybe in 3-4 years I can get a little extra performance out of it if I want to.

What always happens with Intel boards since they change sockets pretty often, is once they go out of production, within a couple of years it gets harder and more expensive to find one. And then you are stuck overpaying for a used one on Ebay.

Thank you for your help! I'm gonna see what I can find for a z board. I'm not building yet so it's no rush. I'm just slowly getting the parts. But that sounds like a good idea.

Hmm yea I didn't know that. Been playing consoles then bought a gaming laptop and traded that for a built pc. So I've been out of the loop for a long time! Thays good info to know thank you
