If the board says its 3.3, it is 3.3. cpu-z is often outdated and gives incorrect info.

Revision 1.3 overcloks the same if not better and is newer. So if you don't care about loosing an extra fan header that runs at 100%, get the new cheaper board.

Anyone know where to go to set the timings for your RAM manually in rev 1.3? My stuff's rated at 4-4-4-12 and is booting at 5-5-5-15 by default.

Not sure what a fan header does. If there's only 1 fan header, can I run 2 case fans + the CPU fan?

The question of differences is becoming more interesting since NewEgg raised the price today of the rev 3.3 to $146 with shipping and lowered the price of the rev. 1.3 to $110 including free shipping.

Rev. 1.3 at NewEgg

Rev. 3.3 at NewEgg

Also, they say:
Rev. 1.3 FSB 1333/1066MHz
Rev. 3.3 FSB 1066/800/533MHz

Can you comment on the new price difference? NewEgg is now charging much more for the rev 3.3 than the rev 1.3.

Ignore my quote of the newegg fsb specs. I suspected that those were wrong.

I'm sorry. I am actually interested in the information too. But, do not have it. I was just talking about the FSB.
My guess, which could be absolutely wrong, is that newegg is just following the demand. It seems like many specifically are buying 3.3 and not 1.3.

I have to replace my v1.0 DS-3 as for some reason I can no longer adjust the cpu coltage, when i go in to pc health in the bios it says Vcore: FAIL. I had to back off the OC and revert back to stock which is a big drop considering my e6400 was running very happily at 3.30ghz and ive noticed my computer seems a bit depressed now that its running at 2.13... anyways Im going to go with the 1.3 considering the now $30 ($40 with the promo code) price difference on newegg.

here is a 10 off promo code for the egg:

GIGABYTE GA-965P-DS3 (rev. 1.3) LGA 775 Intel P965 Express ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail

$129- EMC413FGIGA (promo code)= $99 + shipping

So the 1.3 rev... does that mean I cannot attach 2 case fans and 1 CPU fan to it since it only has 2 headers? Only 1 CPU and 1 Case?

I'm getting a Lian Li PC-7A and replacing all the fans with the Nexus Silent fans, and also slapping one on my Thermalright Ultra-120 heatsink. Does this mean I need a rev 3.3?

Sorry to bump a really old thread, but has anyone with this board gotten the new 45nm processors to work? I installed the F14 beta BIOS which was designed for the rev 3.3 board and it works, so I was just wondering if that means that the board supports the same processors as the rev 3.3 listen here:

Can't say for sure but I have reviewed the website and it indicates that the latest it will support is the Kensington? E6700 or Q6700 running at 1066.

I have an E2160 that overclocked at first but then failed after some use on my REV 1.33. In fact I cannot get it to go above the stock 1.8Mhz. This board has frustrated me. I originally blamed it on flakey memory but that proved false. Next up was Power Supply. Nope. I even read somewhere it had to do with USB so I disabled that with no success. I'm now searching for a used Q6700 to see if it will function. The only other issue may be the on-board SATA controller, I have four hard drives installed. I've considered disconnecting all but the boot drive. I'm sure I am missing something simple but haven't been persistent enough to find it.

I had ASUS last time and I think it will be my next.

Increase the voltage of the northbridge to +0.1v. I had the same problem and that fixed it for me.
