<FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #d8d0c8">Man this is frustrating...The mobo as a whole is rock stable and runs like a dream the only problem is the mobo does not recognize my AMD 1800+ CPU @!?!? I of course tried the auto detect setting and it comes up at 1150 Mhz DOH!! So I tried to set the FSB to 133 Mhz and when I reboot the system the mofo comes up as a 1150 Mhz processor.

I then tried to set the clock speed manually using the switches 11.5 X 133 =1.53 Mhz well as soon as I fire it up the system powers up but it does not post ?!?! No beeps no other warnings just sits there "half posted" I have to hold the power button in to turn it off at this point

As soon as I flip the switch back to 100 Mhz it fires right up like nothing happened. I know my components are good because I just swapped them in from my "old" shuttle AK31A Mobo

I tried unplugging everything and that did not help...I think this Mobo is screwy damn shame because it is a nice mobo.

I e-mailed gigabyte support hopefully they can help.

Here are my system specs

AMD 1800 + XP
512 meg of Pc 2100 DDR Ram
.Gigabyte GA-7VRXP
Win2K
Latest Drivers and using the latest Bios from Gigabyte

Any Ideas or thought s would be appreciated

TIA

I just set up a computer using the GA-7VRXP with an Athlon XP 1800+ and I ran into no problems. On the motherboard I switched the jumper to 133 FSB and put together my computer. It booted up perfectly and everything's working. The only problem is that i get some detecting message when i boot up the computer (MBUltra133).

It could also be your mobo. You may have got a lemon. But before you RMA your mobo, can you check that the bridges on the AXP are clean? I've seen many people on ATforums complain when Artic Silver (or any other silver compound for that matter gets onto the bridges)
