Some specs:

256MB 2100 Crucial
1600+ AGOIA
GA-7VRX

So when I first got the board it had some old bios that wouldnt let me overclock AT ALL. Just yesterday I decided to try again with a new BIOS. So i picked up the F6 BIOS from gigabytes site. Now I've gone up to 1.701 BUT this is where the problem starts.

First off, I can only accomplish an overclock moving at small increments of FSB adjustments. Otherwise, it will default to 1.4Ghz after every restart. Then to the next problem, After incrementing myself to FSB at 162, and running 3dmark a few times and prime etc. I shut down. After shutting down and booting back up it goes back to 1.4Ghz. BIOS says my other adjustments are there, so its not going to default values, it seems to only change the FSB to 'From Hw'.

Redid oc process more than once, does same thing, done more than one speed before I stopped , does same thing.

Im calling it a night but tomorrow I will try the F5 modded bios at amdmb

Is it the bios? sigh.

The gigabyte MB doesn't O/C too well apparently the max bus u can o/c is up to like 166-170. So if your is rebooting 162 to the default then don't worry. I got 170 stable.

check mem setting, latest mod bios, and etc....
