Considering that pricegrabber has it for $299 and the 'egg for $279, it might be a nice deal for some of you.

Can you SLI 2 of these ? (4 GPUs running in total?)

 <--- Link

I really wanted one of these. I had 6600gts sli in my computer about a year ago, and it was cool. Then I bought a 6800gt and didn't like it. Then I bought a single 6600gt and it was pretty good. Now I have a 7800 gtx and I almost wanna get rid of it for this thing. Even though it makes no sense at all. The dual cards are just more pimp.

This is 6600gt sli on one video card in one pci-e slot. You can't buy two and have quad 6600gt power :( You have to have an sli motherboard to operate the one card. It shouldn't matter which brand sli motherboard

Should I dump the gtx and get this?

That is not true according to the reviews at newegg. The GV-3D1-C works in sli mode on all nvidia sli motherboards, it was the original model GV-3D1 that only worked in SLI on gigabyte boards.

Added Sli motherboards..

DO NOT GET THIS! It isn't as fast a a 6800GS, uses more juice, has 1/2 the memory, and costs $20 more than a GS and that's before MIR

New Egg

Yes this card says it has 256MB of RAM, but it's split between the GPU's, 128MB per chip, making the total amount of memory available for textures, and what not just 128MB, unlike, the cheaper, and better performing 6800GS that can address a full 256MB of RAM.

As for 2 of these in SLI that's just plain stupid, even if you could do it, it would cost you $400 total for a setup like that, and it would perform worse than a 7800GT, that only costs ~$285. You would get worse performance, and not get newer features like transparency AA.

I hate to thread crap but this is not a hot deal, cancel your order if you can, save some dough, gain a few FPS's, preemptively avoid some SLI incompatibility headaches, and get a 6800GS

Final Question...

So, this is a GT...

If I were to get two of these and SLI them, thus getting me 2xSLI (4 GPUs), what type of performance would I see? Would it come close to GTX? Does # of pipelines make that much of a difference?

Is there any review sites out there that did a review on this video card 2xSLI'ed???

I don't know about you guys but $400 bux for Four 6600GT's running in SLI sounds really good to me.

it's impossible to SLi these...the board recognized this card as being SLi mode already

pretty sweet price though
