GIGABYTE DS4 USB PROBLEMS

round oclock

Hello,

I am having problems with the USB ports of my DS4. Surprisingly, only the front port (the one thats in the front of the case) works as expected. I had a previous DS4, which crashed and then i replaced it with this one so i thought it could be something related to chipset drivers, inf updates, etc. but i i´ve tried installing the newest versions from Giga and the ports behave the same way.

I switched off the "USB legacy drives" at BIOS but its useless as well.

Next step is installing the OS again but i am working with the computer now and it is almost impossible for me to think about this as a solution. So many time wasted.

Any idea?

BTW where´s the gigabyte official forum? I just couldn´t find anything from their website.

Thanks.

Good question. Im about to buy a DS3 and too was wondering about an official forum. I see no one has responded so perhaps there isn't one. That's kinda weak.

I thought my DS3 was quirky with its USB also, but I've decided it was mostly just me.

Worked fine when I installed everything off the mobo CD. After another format I used the web INF/SATA drivers and my USB ports weren't working. So I installed the USB driver off the CD and they started working.

Then after another format (I format a lot while testing different drivers/settings~) I watched the web INF driver install a ICH8usb.sys type file. Tried plugging in my headset and nothing.

After a reboot it worked, though. However the drivers don't ask you to reboot.

So basically now I install Windows, install INF drivers, reboot, install SATA drivers, reboot, and then I'm good to go with my USB ports. Don't know if it will translate for the DS4, but that's my deal on the DS3.
