Question Gigabyte driver for a GTX 1080 Ti vs a Nvidea driver?

I'm looking a a alternative to Nvidea's driver package w/o that bloated Control Center that gets loaded even if you use Device Manager (even thou I possible found a work-a-around). The card is Gigabytes and in their web site it shows this;
My questions are;
Why are they calling it a "VGA" driver (for W10, not W11)? Are they back in the 90's, why are they using the "VGA" term???

I don't 'game', I don't need the latest/greatest version. I just don't like bloat!
This is for W10, not W11.

In all likelihood, they've kept the VGA nomenclature over the years for the sake of cosistency. It still stands for Video Graphics Array, so it's still valid as a designation.

It's very doubtful that Gigabyte's drivers will be anything else (or better) than the regular Nvidia drivers. But you can try them and see, Maybe they have some extra fan-tuning options.

In short, nothing should prevent you from using these drivers.

BTW, the most recent graphics driver for W10 on the Gigabyte site you posted is dated 2017. Ouch!
At least the Windows 11 drivers are fresher: they only go back to 2021....

At this point, I wouldn't bother with the Gigabyte drivers, and using them may even mess your machine.

Understood about the VGA term, it's just kinda outdated. I just wanted to be sure it wasn't some other type of driver or for some other purpose.
I believe most of the video driver updates are game related which I could care less about.
