Gigabyte BIOS Update

I have the F2A55M-HD2 mobo with the FE BIOS version currently. I see there is a new FF version available, but I can't find any release notes on Giga's site noting what was fixed or changed or added.

Does anyone know before I flash it?

Well, ok! I assume I should use the QFlash within the BIOS off a flash drive instead of using the Windows exec update?

First rule of updating the BIOS. You never ever update the bios unless it fixes a problem you have or provides more functionality with the hardware you have.

Which is the point of my OP. There is no indication on Giga's site that says what the new BIOS addresses.

The reason I'm asking, is that I have that mobo and an AMD A10-6800k w/ Radeon 8670 HD.

For some reason, I discovered last night that I can't play Diablo3 on one monitor and have a video playing from my server efficiently at the same time on a 2nd monitor. The video stutters and chops a bit, enough to be annoying and distracting.

I was hoping my a BIOS update would help or maybe a catalyst update for the AMD.

My point was that you need to find out the details of the bios update before experimenting. "Hope " is not an approved update policy. 😀

So, as others have said, since the board is working with the memory you have, no need to go for this one.

Apparently you didn't read the 2nd sentence:

" I see there is a new FF version available, but I can't find any release notes on Giga's site noting what was fixed or changed or added."

For one thing I've owned Gigabyte MB's and have yet to trust their Q-Flash. I Flash MB FirmWare from DOS Boot pointed at a Fat32 HDD Partition - Fire up the Flash Utility and select their latest ROM or BIN File, BackUp and DO IT - Never failed from my experience.

Once Flashed, Gigabyte with their DUAL BIOS - Just over-write the other BIOS once your satisfied the Firmware is working and elect to boot from either BIOS. The Option is yours with Gigabyte MB's as after the Flash you always have the option to boot from the old Bios or over-write either of them.
