Question Gigabyte bios update best practices

Hi,
I have Ryzen 7 5800x and mobo GIGABYTE B550 AORUS ELITE AX V2.
Requires bios update before using this CPU.

I heard that is recommended to have an older CPU inserted into socket, which is compatible with the bios version present on mobo.
Because otherwise, without a CPU, sometimes bios update fails...
Is this true ?

Thank you!

Thankfully, your motherboard has this:
Q-Flash Plus Update BIOS without Installing the CPU, Memory and Graphics Card

Your manual should have details about how to do this. As for failure rates, I don't think it should be a problem, especially with the 2nd BIOS chip.

I just put the same combo together today and tried to update the bios to F13c. Well the thing started up after restarting a few times with the R7 5800x but when I checked the bios it was F10. So maybe it just shipped with F10 and I failed at my attempt to update it
