What's new: Support Intel 45nm Wolfdale E8xxx series CPU
Does it really take more than two months to get a BIOS out of beta?

The company should either update the bios or not update the bios, not leave people in beta limbo for such a long time. There is more profit, I'll wager, in establishing a reputation for timely bios updates.Originally posted by: Mondoman
But it doesn't generate as much profit as their higher-end boards, so why spend money (BIOS labor) on it?
An earlier bios version says it added support for Yorkfields. I think it's v6.Originally posted by: Idontcare
If I had to just purely "guess" I would venture to suspect that Gigabyte is simply waiting for Intel to finally release the mainstream Yorkfields to the market so that Gigabyte can get thru the initial deluge of debug issues the masses will report uncovering with the F8a bios before they will confident enough to release it as an official rev.
