:( I just bought a new car, and shouldnt buy a new VC! Would going from a 9700 non pro to this be an improvement?

No. You'll loose some actually.

Does this card support dual display? The box says that it supports "2-View," and the Gigabyte web site says it supports "Multiview," which I would assume are both nifty ways of saying "multi-monitor support." However, I couldn't find this clearly stated anywhere..

If its like my 9500 pro, there is 1 DVI and 1 VGA...so the answer is yes :)

read a recent review that stated this card does not work on AGP 2x, just a heads up for the owners of older mbs.

I just paid $189 for the made by ATI 9600XT. The card scores about 3700 (3D2003) on a Barton 2500 system. This is a great card buy if I could do it all over again I would have gone the trade-in route with ATI. I could have traded in my old GF2MX and $249 + $20 shipping for a made-by-ATI 9800 pro. My son has the card and it scores about 5700 on the same system.

Thanks for the 'kind' education.
However, possibly the reader's LOCAL B/M store has them in stock? MIR... big deal. Tax... what $5-$6? and PLUS HL2? ($50 retail). Seems like a POSSBILY better deal if the store has it in stock and you want HL2 (which some people here obviously do as they are asking about it in this thread).

Lighten the fvck up.

$149.99 w/ HL2
Usually Ships In: SOLD OUT!

EDIT: Looks like in-store pickup is available 25 miles from here.

I rest my case.
Newegg is still a better deal.

Same product for 1 cent more, no tax, no rebates to deal with, free shipping, AND a free t-shirt. (yes this is the retail card with the HL2 coupon and bundled games)

Then why do TWO reviews from purchasers mention specfically NO HL2?
If HL2 is included than CERTAINLY Id go with newegg.com in a heartbeat. (hell its Newegg, thats worth a higherprice itself). Im still debating on this versus the 5900nu for $170. Gah!

I didnt see one where it said it ws included.... both said no HL2 (one was worded like -HL2, which I read as "minus HL2" meaning it wasn't included")
