Gigabyte 7vrxp - problems

I have this 7vrxp mobo with athlon xp1800+, 512mb Corsair PC2700, Seagate 30gb 7200rpm & WinXP Pro, etc.

The problem is: My computer indicates that there is another local disk (M🙂 in my computer... I only have 1 hard drive. Anyone have this kind of problem with this mobo? Btw, I already disabled the RAID feature (Promise chip).

HELP!

yes i have the same mobo, and i as well have the mysterious M drive. But it of little concern. What i do have a problem with on this MoBo is the fact that if i go into "Stand By" mode, when i wake up my PC, my CDRW (i only have one CDR drive installed) dissapears! I have to goto Device Manager and have Windows (XP Home) search for hardware, after a couple of minutes my CDRW is found and works again. LOL.

Never had that on my 1.1 version or my 2.0 version that I am running now.

Good luck in figuring it out.

go into your bios and disable the memory stick "it's right above the onboard sound" (it's in integrated peripherals)

Hehehe

You installed the wrong drivers from your Motherboard Chipset drivers. Also, that mysterious drive happens when you install a software for other hardware. It happened to me before, but it wasn't the motherboard problem. It was because I installed something. God, it was so long ago. I fixed it, but I forgot how. I don't even remember which software it was that caused that drive issue.

Hmm... Sorry I can't help. I forgot... 🙁
