gigabyte 6600GT makes loud noise

I just installed my new Gigabyte Geforce 6600GT PCI-E SLI 128MB GV-NX66T128D, and it seems to be working ok (I haven't tested it with heavy graphics yet), it runs at 55c idle which seems a little hot, but reasonable.
The problem is, that I noticed it makes a loud noise, but not the one of a fan spinning fast, but more like the sound of a HD, execpt that its fairly loud, I managed to trace the noise to the HSF on the card, when I turned the pc-case over (layed it on the side), to take a closer look, the sound vanished, but when I returned the case to its standing position the noise returned... I don't know if its normal, or there's somthing loose in the HSF... any suggestions?

I had the exact same problem only mine is an AGP. I was told it is the fan and to call gigabyte and get a new fan. supposedly mine is in the mail and it was free.

same card here. i just stuck my finger inside the fan to stop it from rubbing up against whatever it was rubbing on. not a problem since.

you must have very small fingers, since I didn't manage to stick any finger in there... what an annoyance. I might call Gigabyte's support and ask for a solution, since I don't want to void the warranty. I'm also a little concerned with the temps (as shown by the nVidia driver) which are at 55c idle.
